From the Penthouse to the Outhouse

Some GWF stars are consistent, winning or losing about how you'd expect based on their stats. Others however, seem to go on odd winning or losing streaks. I've recently had one wrestler in particular who came in, caused a huge stir, beat lots of top stars....then became a glorified jobber....all in 4 months "game' time.

Nosfera entered my fed at my October 2119 PPV, attacking Endgame who happened to be the current GWF Champion. He then went on to spend two months running roughshod over the entire federation! He defeated all 3 Animen in singles matches, took out several other top stars in tag team and mixed matches, and then, in his crowning glory, defeated 7 of the GWF's top hereos in one match!

For those who don't read my fed, In a 7 on 7 elimination tag match, Nosfera pinned Tauran, Anivar, Havoc, Paralyze, Disaster, Bloodline and Endgame in less than 25 minutes! It was an amazing run. I really thought that Nosfera, despite less than "superstar like" card stats, might be on the fast track to the GWF title.

And then cracks began showing in the armour. He took his first defeat in a tag match late in 2119. But he was matched up against Bloodline and Endgame, and that's a heavy task for anyone. A few singles losses to Endgame came next. And then a few more losses to guys lower on the card, such as Swarm.

All in all, as I near the end of February 2120, Nosfera has been on a two month losing streak that shows no signs of stopping. His feud with Endgame is pretty much blown off for me, because there's just no contest.

Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE the character, and he'll continue to get a big push and be a big presence in my fed. But the dice don't lie, and for me, he's certainly slipped...though some might argue he had nowhere to go but down after such a promising start.

So you guys have anyone who started like this? Coming on strong, but then crashing just as quick? Or how about guys who go on long streaks...winning a lot, and then losing a lot, then winning again.

This happened to Disaster in my fed not long ago but he is fine right now. If anyone is in the dog house it's The Troubleshooters I just have nothing for them so I put them in the GWFZ.

Swarm for me sorry to say. He started off awesome winning Hardcore and tag belts but now can't seem to buy a win.

Endgame hasn't done much for me since he arrived in the GWF. In the CPC its Rubicon. Also Terminus,Titan Power and the Troubleshooters+The Master Race

Also having bad starts but improved later are Monolith, Stars+ Stripes

Great start but stunk later include New Order,Splatter,Gladiators(Malice+Overkill)

Spike loves to pretend he's ready for a Title shot then job like nobody's business for months on end. If I was the Minister of War he would have gotten approximately 27 Cleansings by now.

Two guys filled that role for me...in the past it was Terminus. Now it's Encubus.

I just started New Beginnings and one wrestler that has been oddly very good is American Guy. He and US Male are Tag Champs and he owns two wins over Encubus (1 DQ) and one over Disaster (DQ). His wins over Encubus led to a #1 contender match for Bloodline's title that Encubus won in about 1:30. His match against Disaster happened a little over a week before Disaster's PPV match against Bloodline and Massif has ordered another #1 contender match.

Morpheus in early classics is the choker for me so far.

The latest one to do this for me is Heracles.

He was very much a lower-mid carder for me up until early 2100. Then he went on a bit of a run. He had consecutive wins against Draconian Sheik, Monad and Dreadnaught. This earned him a match against Spike. A win meant that Heracles would make my Fed's rankings for the first time in his career. A loss meant he was staying put as a midcarder.

Well, Heracles squashed Spike, and Chaos gave him a title shot shortly afterwards. Heracles defeated Chaos in another squash match.

His first title defense was against Raven. He got crushed.

His next match was against Janus. He got crushed again. I had him turn on Omega at the end of the match, as it was my last 2100 card.

He hasn't done any better wrestling under Morpheus. He's lost to Colossus, Vyper, Max Shield and Pegasus since then.

So basically Heracles won five matches in a row to win my Heavyweight Title, then managed to drop his next six (and counting) matches immediately afterwards.

The Troubleshooters are starting to have a dip in form after losing the tag titles. They haven't won a tag match since.

On the other hand, Tauran didn't start off so well but now he's on fire, especially in his team with Endgame. It's a great coincidence that he gets younger because although I've always used his card from New Beginnings, he seems to improve as my fed goes on.

I have a small test I do to see whether or not a guy can make it as a main eventer. If they're heading up to a big match I put them against The Betrayer. Normally, The Betrayer is the glorified jobber in my fed but every once in a while he picks up a huge victory against a wrestler higher up in the card. He defeated Swarm before his title shot against Endgame and he defeated Disaster, which led to Disaster's losing streak (which ended after a 1 move victory over Betrayer a while later)

As much as I hate to say it, mainly because he's one of my favorite characters and has been mentioned already, but Swarm has fit this category since his official switch from tag wrestler to single in our fed. AniMen Horde is the most successful tag team in our fed's history (5 awards total); but as a singles wrestler he has come up short in the big matches pretty consistently. Maybe that's the problem, the expectations are too high for him after such a dominating tag run. I am really looking forward to the rumored 2122 update, I think it will help him make the true transition, at least in our neck of the woods.

Since I am only in 2101 I have really only had 2 top level wrestlers come in big and fizzle out quick. Alpah Force just captured his first title, he pinned Chaos for the first time ever and it was a big win I just don't know if he will be up for a rematch. Mandrill is the other. For his debut I wanted him to be an impact player. Wolf was my IP champ and Mandrill attacked him after a match and challenged Wolf to a match. He destroyed Wolf, won the title and then had a few defences. He went about .500 after and has not won a single match in 2101. He is a total bust for a guy who is supposed to be 1 of my feds big bads.
