Well, which is it?
This is a tough one...but I gotta go with the original. They're all a product of Night of the Living Dead in some way or another.
I'm not so sure that any of the Evil Dead Trilogy even belong up there, but what the hell.
~ :-Xsk
ps- Not only is Romero making another one - Diary of the Dead, but a remake of Day of the Dead is coming soon. The original rocks - the best non-CGI gore special effects EVER.

I admittedly haven't seen many, but I really liked 28 Days Later. Not your stereotypical shambling zombies, and that was cool to me.

For me, it is the original "Dawn of the Dead" followed closely by the original "Night of the Living Dead."

Day of the Dead for me if I really have to choose. Mind tied for top Zombie movies ever would be "The Romero zombie flicks"
He set the bar for what a zombie movie is and should be. He is THE ZombieMaster.

I'm a big fan of Dead Alive (Brain Dead), have been since before I knew who Peter Jackson was. It had a zombie baby before the Dawn remake, it had an butt kicking priest, hot zombie love (kidding, it wasn't hot at all and it was PG so don't call me a sicko), violence with a garden gnome, and the last 20 or so minutes of the film was wall to wall splatter. I'm pretty stoked it's up on the poll. Problem is, I've seen all the ones listed up there, was hoping there'd be a heads up on one I haven't seen.
After that one I'd go for Dawn of the Dead original, zombies in a mall. Tom Savini rules and Ken Foree is a lot taller in person.

Dawn of The Dead (1978) is my all time favorite movie. Great editing, character development, flavor, action, drama, effects and mood. I own five different versions of that movie (Original, Directors Cut, European Cut, Extended Version, and Korean Cut), have met the entire starring cast, wear the T-shirt, and take immense pride that I live within 20 minutes from Monroeville Mall, where I get a giddy thrill walking along the paths tread by Peter, Steven, Roger and Fran... as well as a great biker gang and countless zombies!
And don't think it escapes me about the end theme song used in Robot Chicken!
