Where do you see Dontrelle Willis ending up?
Obviously you have to consider the usual favorites for a guy like this (the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets).
The Tigers made a trade offer for him in the off-season. They offered Justin Verlander, Joel Zumaya, and Curtis Granderson. THANK GOD the Marlins rejected that trade. I mean, I would love to have Dontrelle Willis, but those are three future all-stars in my opinion. Verlander can be an ace in this league. Zumaya is a bulldog coming out of the pen, and Granderson is a speedy centerfielder with good power and a good glove.
I'm still hoping the Tigers can get Willis, but not at that cost.

Most likely I think with the Sox. Though I could see the Mets and Yankees make a run.

I say the Cardinals. Not sure who they'd have to give up as I'm not all that familiar with their roster.
If not, then I say Red Sox. They need an arm, bad.
My Tigers can't really trade anybody to get him. I think they should stand pat.

As a Dontrelle Willis fantasy owner, I don't care where he goes as long as he goes to a contender...soon!

I doubt the Yankees can land him. They don't have any farm players to trade for him. Same with the Mets, they've torn their farm system apart to build this current team.
I think he'll end up in the NL West as one of those teams will need a player like him to get ahead of the pack.

I don't know where he'll go. His stock has plummeted this year. He proven now over his entire career that he has a great year and then a horrible year; its a cycle and it makes him a gamble. Can another team help him make adjustments? Probably.
Speculatively, where does he go?
I'll reach and say the Dodgers. Big market team that usually makes subpar transactions.
I really don't see the Red Sox just because they have already thrown some of their brightest stars at Florida and the prospects who remain in Pawtucket are mainly pitchers. They really don't need him at this point. Beckett will settle in, Schilling will be solid and the rest will be alright. Papelbon will be a starter as soon as Theo says Delcarmen or Lester are ready to take the closer role.
Speaking of Theo, if he moves for Dontrelle, that will be his 2nd mistake this season. Look at what Arroyo is doing to the NL (yes, the NL is less competitive but still).

Can't see Willis to the Yankees...they simply don't have anybody the Marlins would want.
If the Marlins wouldn't take Verlander and Granderson before, then I doubt Detroit could offer them anything to make them change their minds.
It's not like Dontrelle has some albatross contract the Marlins need to unload. They have all the leverage here, and can easily afford to keep him if there are no offers to their liking. While it's an unlikely possibility, I'd see if I could talk the Mets into giving up Lastings Milledge for him. The Cards, with Mulder pitching like crap and now on the shelf, could use another starter, as could everyone in both Western divisions. But if I had to guess, I say Willis stays put, at least this year.
At this point, I think John Smoltz is a far, far more interesting piece of tradebait. The Braves are utterly completely finished and Smoltz has already expressed openness to the idea. Woudn't it be cool to see Smoltz head back to Detroit, where it all (almost) began for him?

I'm voting for the Sox, just because I can't stand the Sox being tied with New York. But honestly I think he'll stay with Florida another year.

If Theo replaces Papelbon as closer, I say it will probably be Craig Hansen, who throws mad heat and is only a matter of time before he settles into the closer role.

He's not going anywhere now that Florida has a halfway decent team.
