Take your pick. I always liked that Taylor, but in recent weeks...can they play any more to him!?!? It seems like when they have someone pick his songs....they give him something that fits his style EXACTLY (re: Springsteen and Cocker (will Cocker have a filter?!? ;D ).
If he has to pick something, he rarely goes out of his style, doesn't take a lot of chances.
I at least give Kat respect, she'll take a chance with a variety of songs. But they rip her, even when someone picks her songs...they don't give her a set style of song, unlike Taylor.
I'm starting to ramble. I think Taylor will win, but I hope Kat wins now.

Taylor SHOULD win because he is the better singer and performer. Kat is beautiful, but she has lots of pitch problems and to me, isn't all that charasmatic.
I think Taylor wins, and AI ruins him with a horrible CD that tries to force him into being a pop star.

Yech.
I stopped watching when Chris left.
I wasn't impressed at all with this crew, and don't think any of them would have made it as far as they did in any other year, but that's me.

I think that Fantasia year was the pits. She had no business winning at all (that Latoya (who was underrated and very hot) should have won it).
If I have to pick the best of the all time idols, including this year
1) Kelly Clarkson - Tommy, go back to the 1st seaon and half of those contestents wouldn't have been in the top 24 this year with the big exception of Kelly. But the show was feeling itself out again and only wanted that certain type of singer, which they have now expanded their horizons.
2) Carrie Underwood
3) Taylor or Kat - Taylor with his personality may move ahead of Carrie.
4) Reuben - Is he even stil around?!?
5) Fantasia - Ughhh "Baby Mama"...all ya need to know.

I didn't like the attitudes on either of them, though. They both looked sooooo smug.

I was glad to see Taylor win. The way they have the competition structured with the different "themed" weeks (i.e. "Queen week", "Barry Manilow" etc.) you need to be the most versatile singer.
Taylor was clearly better. Katherine was ok but she would get off key a lot, and if all you do is sing that one song all week, that shouldn't happen.
Sorry, my musician snobbiness may be coming through a little. ;D
I was just disappointed to see all the "awards" given out like that guy who was a terrible singer that tried to impersonate Clay Aiken. This encourages bad singing.

They've been making fun of Clay's "duet" with that weird guy on this radio show I listen to "Glenn Beck". They said could someone look as uncomfortable than Aiken did last night

Personally, I gave up on AI after I simply got tired of listening to Randy and Paula saying the same thing every week. I suppose though as long as t he ratings are good, they'll stay though.
