There has been some surprises but the Phillies just won their Ninth straight game. It seems they win no matter what happens and won in the ninth with a Two Out Triple,Hit Batter,Walk and a dribbler

Our Triple A team is the Reds affiliate...so I kinda keep up with the Reds and I'm actually shocked. I used to be able to tell you every player, their stats, etc. But I've been turned off by pro sports in recent years. I just saw in the Sunday paper that the Reds were in 1st! I was shocked!

Although I voted for the Reds just over the Tigers, I have also been surprised so far by how good the Colorado Rockies have been compared to last year. Also, although people have been predicting this for years only to be proven wrong, this could just be the first year that the Atlanta Braves do not win their division since 1990- unless you count 1994 when the Montreal Expos were in first place when the season ended in mid August because of the strike.

You've gotta say the Detroit Tigers!
This franchise hasn't had a winning record since 1993 and hasn't sniffed the playoffs since 1987.
The biggest reasons for their turn around has to be because of Kenny Rogers, he has really helped the young pitching staff, and manager Jim Leyland.
The Tigers have had some horrible managers: Buddy Bell, Larry Parrish, Phil Garner (who did well with a veteran team in Houston but couldn't get this young group anywhere), Luis Pujols, and Alan Trammell.
Leyland has this team looking like they might be able to compete for a playoff spot!

I voted Reds in a tough call with the Tigers. Leyland is a big asset to any team, as us Pittsburgh fans will tell you. Hopefully I get a chance to go see the Pirates and Tigers in July just before the Con. Haven't seen an interleague game yet, which will be fun in and of itself.

I was always a fan of the two during their playing days... But I've always loved Leyland. One of the most underrated managers of all time...
