I know all three QB's won't be there...but one of them will be...
I want Huff...but it would be damn hard to pass on Vince Young or Jay Cutler at no.9.

I've got to say Huff. He may not be there, if not, I think the Lions should trade the pick and move down a few slots and try to get a 4th round pick, as they don't have one due to the Ty Detmer trade.
They won't take Cutler. They have 26 yr. old McCown, and Orlovsky. I think they would have too much $ tied up in QB's when they have more pressing needs. An O-lineman would be great like Winston "Dark" Justice, too.

Oh I expect them to take Cutler.....we're not talking a well-run franchise in Detroit right now.

Oh I expect them to take Cutler.....we're not talking a well-run franchise in Detroit right now. I kind of hope they do take Cutler...I know Matt Millen takes a lot of crap but a lot of it is not justified...no one thought it was a bad move to draft Joey, Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, Kevin Jones, or Shaun Rogers... they HAD to draft Mike Williams last year due to Charles Rogers future being in jeapordy due to his drug habits...we just didn't know that until later... Millen isn't great, but he is far from the baboon that the media and some fans try to make him out to be... IMO, Mariucci did more to destroy this team in one season (last year) than Matt Milllen has done in his entire tenure. Hopefully, Marinelli and Martz can do something with all the amazing talent Matt Millen has provided for them. Cutler would be an excellent pick and a steal at the 9 spot. I hope they get him.

I think they have to go defense with the 1st pick. If it's an offensive player, it should be an O-lineman.
The only exception is if Leinhart or Young were still there. Which actually is possible. I was watching the Mock Draft on ESPN today and Leinhart was there and the guy picking for Det. took him.
They had Huff going to OAK at #7 allowing Leinhart to fall. If Leinhart was there, Detroit would have to take him or trade that pick for a "Herschel Walker deal."

I know Leinhart is a bigger name, but Cutler has a way bigger arm, and is a better QB overall from what I see... J Cut is also the most prepared for the NFL from what I have read... Leinhart has a weak arm, and may be good, but not in an offense that is going to be chucking the ball down the field all year like the Lions... that's what I think...we'll see.

Two of my best friends played at UK (one was a corner from Texas, the other RB from Cali) and they both say Cutler is the truth. I'm sure part of it has to do with how he always torched UK, but my boy from California has also seen Leinart up close and he says Cutler will be the better pro, too.

Wait a minute...
(pulls the mask off of Swarm)
GASP - You're Matt Millen!!!
Seriously, Detroit will do good with the draft this year. And it is not entirely out of the question for them to wind up with Vince Young or Jay Cutler. But from listening to the sports talk, Michael Huff is going to get the nod in the first round. As far as a good QB prospect that will be available in later rounds, I would go with Bruce Eugene out of Grambling State. He would not be a starter and lacks height advantage at 6'0", but with refinement and time, his arm and ability to deliver under pressure could be an asset to the Lions offense.
That's just me - I'm still playing guessing games with the Steelers - AARRGGHHH!

The Lions should NOT take a QB in this year's draft unless it's one of the big 3 - Young, Leinhart, or Cutler.
They have filled the void at QB with Kitna, McCown, and Orlovsky. This is not a long term fix, but I think they have to stay with it if they can't get one of the aforementioned guys.
They need DB, LB, and OL badly.
My gut (at this 11th hour) is saying the Lions will get Ernie Sims - LB from Fla. St.

Though at the time, I had a thought that they would draft the very questionable Winston Justice. Glad to see a Seminole joining the Lions. I have said that no matter what team you are, you need some guys from these schools: Miami, Oklahoma, Florida (any school in Fla.), USC, Nebraska, Ohio St., and Michigan. We have our Seminole.

I don't remember seeing this part of your post yesterday...hmm...
