I'm going with Ferguson. With your QB in place with Brees, you need to protect him.

I'll go out on a limb and say Houston takes Mario Williams, and Bush goes to the Saints.
I don't really think it will happen but if it does I have bragging rights forever...

I'm going with A.J. Hawk...he may not go to the Saints, but I'm pretty sure he'll go #2.

If they stay at 2 I think they'll take AJ Hawk! They really need a big playmaker on defense.

There is no way in hell AJ Hawk is going before Mario Williams. You don't take a stud LB when there is a blue-chip DE still on the board...
just my opinion.

If the Saints want Hawk, they'd have to trade down. Hawk is at best the 5th or 6th best player behind Bush, Leinhart, Young, Williams and probably Ferguson. You can't take him over Williams.

I actually listened to a guy yesterday on 1270 who predicts leinhart will fall to Detroit and they will grab him. I don't know he he was, but he was some scout or something.
I doubt this will happen, but I thought it was interesting.

I respect your opinions guys, but I've got to dissagree. I think there are teams out there that need the type of player Hawk is...and one will want to make sure they grab him. He has Urlacher potential in my opinion, and I know there are a few teams who think so. I don't rate either QB's higher than him, and don't know a whole lot on Williams...but he's a DE and that may not be a priority for someone.
I think Hawk will have a huge impact in his first year, and the same probably can't be said for most of the guys on O save for Bush and maybe one or two other RB's and WR's.
Leinert's heart isn't in it, and Young is a total project. He's got the skills...but so did guys like A.Brooks, Q.Carter and R.Leaf. JMO
**Though I do see Young as more a McNair/Leftwich type player who will just need a year or two on the sideline to learn how to play pro QB. He could go either way...

I'm going with Hawk, but I think they might trade the pick with the Jets who need a QB.

I think EVERY NFL team can use a speed pass rusher. That is the defense's #1 priority, get to the QB and nobody in this draft will do that better than Williams. Plus, at DE, you don't need as many play-reading skills like you do at LB so a DE can come in and play right away and have success. I don't see how you can say Leinhart's heart isn't in it. How do you form this opinion about anyone without knowing the person? His heart was SO into being the QB for USC that he passed up being the #1 pick last year to try and be the 1st college QB to win 3 nat.'l titles. Leinhart will be the better pro. He played a pro style offense in college whereas Young relied heavily on his running skills. Watching ESPN, their analysts say NFL teams don't look at a QB's running ability as much as they do their ability to read defenses and Leinhart was at the top of that list in the college ranks.

good call Swarm...I gotta say I didn't see that happening only because it will go down as one of the worst decisions of all time. I love Davis, but you can't tell me having Bush touch the ball 10-15 times on offense and returning kicks wouldn't give you more yards and more impact than some DE? BAD move!
As for my call...Green Bay just got a Defense...mark my words, this kid is going to have Urlacher impact on that team, and when Favre sees a D that can actually stop other teams (especially in their division) he may feel that he CAN actually win.
Also, cudos to my Cardinals for a real nice draft. I still think they could use another playmaker on D (a LB) but with their 1st round pick from last year healthy (he was injured, his name escapes me right now) and FINALLY a running back...we could make some noise!

As for my coment about Leinart, I don't need to know the guy to form that kind of opinion. From what I've read, and heard about him, he's a playboy who is very interested in a hollywood life. The guy has multiple agents. Why do you think San Fran and Oakland passed up on him? Wouldn't you think a USC QB in another Southern Cal team would be magic...not if that puts someone who wants to be in movies WHERE they make the movies. Imagine the distractions...
I'm just saying...he has shown he is a winner, and looks like he could have a very good NFL career...but he is a risk, just like Vince Young is a risk...just like taking a DE #1 instead of a stud HB is a risk. I'm a Arizona fan, so I'm pretty happy he fell to us...because if he does become the kind of QB he 'may' be capable of, then he's going to lead my team to big things.
They also filled a need on the OL, a with a teammate of Leinart no less...and picked up a potental stud TE in the 3rd round. Watch out NFC West. Leinart could have a ton of heart, and be really dedicated on becoming the best pro QB he can be...but I haven't seen much evidence of that so far thats all...

About Leinhart,
I am really glad he went to Arizona because it literally caused my friend (who is from Southern California and a major fan of Leinhart) yesterday to buy season tickets for the Arizona Cardinals and he has already promised to sell me his tickets for the Seahawks-Cardinals game on Sunday December 10. I am a hardcore Seahawks fan because I spent the first 26 years of my life in Seattle and now I'll get to see them take on the Cardinals in the brand new football stadium in Glendale that the Cardinals are opening this year. Unless Kurt Warner gets hurt or goes back to struggling, I don't expect Leinhart to play much this year but I'm still glad he went to the Cardinals because now I've got Seahawks tickets!

I like Williams, he's a freak, and quite possibly the safer pick than Bush (time will tell), but after all the hype, I'd be disappointed initially. 2) The Cards have always been one of my favorite teams...I was a huge Eric Swann fan if that tells you anything... On paper, they look absolutely amazing. It is being smeared all over the Detroit radio that AZ was ready to take Ernie Sims had The Lions passed on him...that's why they didn't trade down. Leinart is ok...we'll see...I don't think much of him and was never really impressed by watching him play...I always thought it was the two RB's, and the D that made USC so good, but the rest of the Cards picks look great, especially Pope, the 6'7 TE they stole in the 3rd or 4th round...

I hear what you're saying Floyd, but I think that stuff gets a little distorted. I'm sure Matt Leinhart isn't the 1st guy to have more than 1 agent and have an interest in Hollywood. He's from LA (or some close So Cal city) so I think it's natural. San Fran couldn't take him because they spent last year's #1 one a QB and they needed to get him a weapon. Oakland could've taken him but it's hard to argue against picking the best S in the draft and a guy that could be the next Ed Reed.
