I have a hard time with this one. I am a Christian and so I believe that when someone dies they move on to another place. But I have a friend who is also a Christian who told me he has seen a ghost. I don't really know what to think. I believe that it is possible for some of it to just be energy left over if that makes any sense. I also definitely believe in demons and think that they play a definite part in what some people call ghosts.

I have had a few unexplainable experiances, so yes I believe in ghosts. As for being Christian, I'm one and even I subscribe to the "more things in heaven and on earth" theries some times. Some things even science and faith can't really explain. Big Time

Being an Agnostic, I'm not sure. I saw a show several years ago on near-death experiences, and they pointed out that a number of people who "saw the light at the end of a tunnel" actually were partially alive with a small part of their brains still active, even though they were pronounced dead.
Then again, with so many people all over the world seeing things they can't explain, it makes you wonder. Personally I've never seen a ghost. My friend and I could have sworn we saw the Grim Reaper once. It could have been our over-active imaginations (but both of us seeing it in the same place at the same time?). I've had dreams where I've spoken or seen loved ones and friends who had passed away though, so I don't know if that counts.

I have to say yes because my grandparents bought the house that the New Jersey strangler had killed his victims in...didn't know this until a couple of years ago...had horrible nightmares in that house when I was younger and saw things at night...the house was totally creepy...hated being there.

we've tried to take a photo, but he never hangs around long enough.my friend snapped him once but you couldnt make anything out on the photo. when ever ive tried to approach him , he's turned his back and walked off. some say we should "chase" him, but we really dont want to mess with him.he's never done anyone harm so we decided just to leave him be. my friend remembers him from the age of 6 or so.its an old house ( about 80 years old) and the old fashion doors have the handles up high.my friend ( brendon) remembers him openning the doors for him when he couldnt reach the handles!! once a group of friends decided to do a seance ( i think thats how you spell it)( not me , i stayed in the other room).they lit a candle ( which i saw them do) in the front room ( that room was always freezing) and walked out of the room for about 5 minutes.when they went back the candle had burned to the ground.so what you might think? we the candle was suppose to be able to burn for 6 hours!!! it was blue and white in colour but the melted wax around it was red!!! thats no sh*t!! after that no one tried anything like that again!!

Ive always seen pretty wierd things, but i would try to rationalize them and dismiss the situation. Mostly things moving by themselves...dishes and what not. My rational would be "oh, they must have been wet and the moisture moved them." Hindsight is 20/20, right?
I was 21 when i saw my first ghost. An old lady in my bedroom standing over my bed. She had long hair and was naked with oldwrinkley skin. She had no eyes and her mouth was moving really fast almost like she was chanting or something.
I was not sleeping or anything. The tv was on and i can remember watching sports center...they were talking about Joe torre not voting for frank thomas to be in that years all star game ( i think this was summer 2000.)
In any event, It scared the crap outta me. All i could do was close my eyes and ask for Gods help. When i felt it leave the room i stubled out backwards into the living room and my boys were freaked...they went in my room and said they felt noticibly colder.
All in all, not fun.
Ive seen a few things since then, but that was probably the most intense.
so i voted "yes".

No, I don't think there any such things as ghosts. I know lots of people say they've seen ghosts. But, why would they be here, and if there were, we would've had something tangible by now. Heck, there's even "pictures" of the Lockness Monster (sp?) It's like George Carlin says, "3 out of every 4 people belive in angels. Angels?? What are you f'n stupid?! What about goblins? How come nobody believes in goblins? Seems just as reasonable. And what about zombies? Where the f**k are all the zombies? Well, that's the problem with zombies, they're unreliable." I think good ol' George would probably lump ghosts into that line of thinking. Classic Carlin. Love that guy!

Very interesting topic!
I don't know if I had what you would classify as an experience with a "ghost", but I definitely had something kind of odd happen to me one night.
I was sleeping over at my girlfriends house and I had a horrible nightmare about an ex of mine. It wasn't so much a nightmare as it was just random images of things, like in a slideshow.
I remember seeing pictures of a field, an old tree, a trampled rose, and then seeing two figures: an old man in a hat (at least I think he was old by the way he was walking) and his dog. I could only see the dark outlines of their figures. They were walking towards me, and just as I was about able to make out their faces, there was this scream and then an image of my ex girlfriend flashed in front of me and then a bloody shirt hanging from a chain link fence in the middle of some field.
Just as those last two images flashed in my dream I woke up and realized that it was FREEZING cold in the room (I literally had chills and could see my breath, and this was in July) and for some godforsaken reason, my right arm was straight up in the air, which was weird because I was sleeping on my back. It took a moment before I could put my arm back down.
This was the weirdest experience of my life, and although I know I dream all the time, I never can remember vivid details like this. I can still remember that entire "dream" to this day. Scares the crap out of me to be honest with you.
