Who wouldn't vote for Dracula? I mean, from just an impact point of view, how many freaking Vampire movies have come off that have some basis from the character?
Zombies are a close second, if only because of Night of the Living Dead. Such a great movie.

I voted for Frankenstien. Mary Shelly gave birth to what we know as science fiction (and Frank is all around a great character. C'mon ive got him tattooed on me!).

Hey where does Godzilla fit in?
Otherwise I'd have to say Dracula. Vampires are pretty neat.

Uh . . . . that's two votes for the ex-wife. Seriously, I am a big fan of the wolfman because of the story of the Beast of Gevaudan. The first recorded mass-murder spree in history took place in the French province of Gevaudan. The culprit was a large, wolf creature known as La Bete'. The creature was responsible for some 300-plus murders, usually women and children. The killer would rip out the throats of its victims and mau the body with claws and razor sharp teeth. 18th century France CSI's were a bit inadequate in their ability to determine a suspect, so the murders went on for years before a conspiracy was revealed that (may have) determined the killer to be a wolf-dog hybrid, trained by a human master to kill shepards, women, children and stragglers. The events are still being investigated to this day, and the story helped bolster the werewolf and wolfman mythos. You can read a more detailed explanation of this very real crime case here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beast_of_GévaudanThis story and the tale of the Greek soldier, and the story of the severed hand have made me a big fan of the wolfman. Of course, part of the Dracula mythos is that Vlad can assume the shape of a wolf or a half wolf / half man creature.

Tough choice, I could go with other, since I dress up as Michael Myers ever year when I fix up my house (I'm a big guy, 6-2 250), so I look the part and scare the heck out of kids...
But I'll pick Dracula, but really vampires. I went to New Orleans for my honeymoon and it was fascinating going on vampire tours, etc. My wife liked it, although she was never a fan of supernatural stuff, etc.
With this topic, they had a great show Saturday night on Coast to Coast AM about vampires, werewolves, etc. The origins, etc. One of those Saturday nights I told the wife, sorry, I gotta stay up to listen....

I voted the ZOMBIES because they're really cool and on the list.
I'm disappointed GODZILLA isn't on that list, is he not the king of all monsters? Godzilla would be my other choice.

I am also dissapointed in the lack of respect shown to the King of the Monsters, but then agian he is a kaiju and could thus squash any of these other monsters into paste and my guess is this is a more "favorite Halloween type Monser" poll. Cuase I am also shocked at the lack of Trolls, Ogres, Giants, Bigfoot and Nessie (mostly becasue my vote would be split between Godzilla and Nessie). I did vote for Frankinstein's Monster, who by the way is NOT called Frankenstein. I have played the part of Frankenstein's Monser on Halloween for many years (I really do have the build for it) both in the Boris Carloff version (grunting, goraning with the black shirt and the green makeup) and as the more modern type (just a large stiched together corpse, strong and inteligent). Scares the pants of kids. Plus the book is one of my favorites. Big Time.

You know, I was looking up monster stuff this past weekend getting ready for Halloween and I found something disturbing.
Boris Karloff was only 5'11"!! Those were either some major lifts, some good camera shots or some real short people in the movie with him!!!

I vote for Jaws. What's scarier than a monster that we know really exists?

My favorite monster has to be George Bush. OOOHHHH damn he's scary. (Scary that he could push the button if wanted to - though I doubt he could figure out how it works)
