Yo everyone. I've decided to start playing again, and hopefully this time I'll stick with it long enough to get through the first year. With my new restart I've changed a few things, and this creats a problem with my tournament to crown my first Galaxian Champion. I have ten wrestlers in the tournament, which starts with a round robin part separated into two groups of five. My question is, after the round robin part when I set up seeding, do I just take the top 8, or should I take the bottom four and have them wrestle for the last two spots?

Never fear, the Tournament Master is here!!!!!!
If you are going through the trouble of having the round robin, why just let everyone in the knockout portion of the tournament. What I would suggest is that you have the winner of each group receive a bye to the semifinals, and then have the 2nd and 3rd place in each group fight in the quarterfinals. I would set it up like this:
Match 1: Group A #2 vs. Group B #3 Match 2: Group B #2 vs. Group A #3 Match 3: Group B Winner vs. Match 1 Winner Match 4: Group A Winner vs. Match 2 Winner Match 5: Semifinal Winners
I think thats the fairest way to do things.

I think I might do just the top 4... It would make the initial matches more meaningful Edit: TM posted while I was posting this.. I like his idea too I think you ought to eliminate a few guys if you're gonna put them through 4 matches each.

I was thinking top 4 like Wildfire, but I then thought a reward for winning the group was in order as well. Either way works in my mind.

I like Todd's idea but if you choose otherwise then go with the top four and not eight.

Thanks for the help guys. I went with the top six idea. I was thinking backwards and it didn't dawn on me to just lessen the amount that advances. Thanks again.

Definitely either the top four or six. Why have two round robin groups and then let 8 out of the 10 advance? New Japan's G-1 Climax has used the two group winners get byes and second third from each group advance to the first round of a tournament format.

Top four. Winner of Group A versus runner-up of Group B, winner of B versus runner-up of A, and a final match for the belt.
