What does the winky smile face mean in that post. It means "Hey big boy" Captain America is pretty hard, but you know he's not going to stay dead forever. A movie will be made eventually and they'll resurrect him to sell more comics. He's pretty cool, though... but how goofy would it be for this comic book character to come into COTG? Now The Hulk I friggin hate.

BTW, speaking of Dr. Strange, see Mesmer SE card with art by Brian Bendis for proof that a Marvel character HAS already been in the GWF. Come to think of it, Kill Prey bares more than a passing resemblance to Kraven The Hunter, too. Blazing Skull/ Ghost Rider is an obvioius one. Actually, it's not as "goofy" to imagine a Marvel comics character in the GWF. A real life modern wrestler like Greg Valentine is actually way more out of place in the COTG universe.

In that case, you can rest assured Cap will be alive and well again before the movie comes out.

There's a TON of such analogues... some are more archtypal then anything though.. not to mention the fact several GWF artists are also comic artists. Take the Animen... Marvel has them too... They're just the Knights of Wundagore instead of Animen...then there's Paragon and the Estorians... who look just like the Thing... Endgame/Silver Surfer... Darkos/Dr. Doom.... you get the idea...

COTG has had their share of American "Hero" types...Commander Sam...US. Patroit....Ms. Liberty...US Male & American Guy..anyone I missed...and having Capt. America would be no worse than having Greg Valentine or Mike Fortune for that matter...Tom could use the Cpt. America idea in some form as a tribute...that and when have the earth had a championship contender rather then a mid- card jobber?

It's obvious Tom has been extremely inspired by Stan Lee and his comics over the years.
I myself would never use a Captain America card, but it would be way cool to have one released, maybe as a GCon LE sorta thing. You know, just there for fun.

I remember when I first got New Beginnings I said that Switchblade's art reminded me Of Wolverine and a couple of people were offended, saying I was accusing Tom and the artist of ripping off other people's ideas. I think a few people also questioned why I would think a guy with that haircut, and blades on his hands, and a leather jacket would remind me of Wolverine. It's nice to not be a newb anymore

I think it's very hard to come up with something totally original art wise. Wheather conciously or unconciously those creative images have to have roots from earlier influences, be it from comic book heros, early sci-fi movies, real wrestlers to the guy across street. For me as long as there doesn't seem to be a generic look forming, then I don't mind. Back in the 80's the WWE had big guys of all shapes and sizes who could wrestle but most had charisma and were somewhat unique and interesting, now nearly every WWE wrestler has this generic bodybuilder look and some are as interesting as cardboard. One of my personal favourites is the Cycle Hog card.

[ than a COTG game card for Captain Spandex. I'm a big fan of Andromedans. Who isn't? C'mon. Note: CA never wore spandex, his uniform is a type of chainmail. More coolness. Definitely agree not to bring him in to the COTG...COTG should keep with same format as they've been. Let's bring in new guys, like Andromedans for example, and build stories for them. Never liked Greg Valentine in the GWF either (I never used him myself).

Like I said before I never got that far in editions but I kind of like the idea of Greg Valentine being there, you could easily make a storyline to fit in the futuristic world of wrestling. Of course I couldn't use any GWF stars in LOW that would feel odd.

It's an interesting idea, but really I think if you're gonna bring Captain America in the best place to do it would be in aCe rather then in the GWF proper. After all it just makes sense for Marvel's Star Spangled Avenger to assist the Centrans in thier battle against Murdock.

You've clearly never read any Captain America (or Avengers for that matter) comics if you think Cap is 'soft', EVERYONE in the Marvel Universe respects the guy, even his enemies. On the topic, I sorta agree that it would kinda lame to add a Marvel character to CoTG, but I think the massive publicity it would bring would be unbelievable good for the game. They'd probably be national coverage of it. I'd bet you'd AT LEAST triple the number of games sold EVER in a very short time. Of course, it would never in a million years happen (Marvel protects its trademarks even more aggressively than WWE) Right On Brother !
