Close one with Chaos and Thantos. Didn't see them coming but I went with Chaos

Blazing SKull edges Chaos here. Mayhem and Spike had revenge as motivation and Thantos knew he was starting to slow down so it makes sense.

Had to be Blazing Skull...never ever would have expected him to turn face...then again it was all a ploy to really get at Lorelei and Switchblade...Great Face Turn!

Blazing Skull without a doubt...in my fed, when he turned on Lorelei-Dreggs's career was ended as the Sagittan pushed her out of the way and took the blunt of the DEATH BY FIRE!

Probably Thantos for me. The main reason it is not Blazing Skull is that I still never believed he was sincere as it was happening. In my head I remember yelling, "It's a trick! It's a trick, Lorelei!"

I probably shouldn't be reading these as I'm only up to 2098, but to hear that Chaos turns face has me floored.

Of those listed, I went with Spike. To me, an effective face turn necessitates the wrestler taking a stand against his former evil allies rather than having his allies kick him to the curb. This automatically eliminates Thantos (Chaos & Matador) and Chaos (Mandrill - I know he is not really an ally, but he is a fellow heel). The Blazing Skull turn, while surprising, was not very effective and failed to really signify a true change in his character (and if memory serves he was kicked to the curb as well). Mayhem was on and off the Gladiatior team several times during his career, and usually because he was again forced off rather than exercising any free will or change.
Spike, while only for one year, chose to leave the Gladiators due to their alliance with other heels (Thantos and Krakan), thus making his shift in allegiance more rational in my mind. And I will never forget looking at the 2091 handbook's cover and noticing that Spike was missing in the Gladiator photos, raising my curiosity for the drama to unfold in the following pages. Therefore, for me, Spike was the most effective face turn, and to a degree the most surprising.

I said Thantos.
The guy who broke the Code and created the Villain Camp goes face?! Not only that but he teams with guy he had been trying to destroy - that one was truly historic.

Thantos...the greatest GWF villian of all time becomes a hero, you kept expecting him to reveal it all a trick. Thats how good Thantos was as a villian...you just couldnt fully trust him even when he was good.
