Well my first attempt at a new thread generated some conversation, so since I continue the never-ending fight with insomnia, here goes nothing:
Do you think that Tom will introduce another MAJOR rookie in 2122, or will the set be more heavily dedicated to updating existing characters that could use a make-over?
Personally, I think that Tom will intro 3-4 future players (we had 7 POTENTIAL rookies {2 are under masks} in 2121 -- DEAD RINGER, MOTHER SUPERIOR, SULTANA, OMEN, MONOLITH, PANTHER WARRIOR, and RAGE), who each will come in as decent mid-card guys and/or gals to start their careers, while the other 8-9 cards are dedicated to updating characters that in some cases desperately need it.
There have already been several rumored updates, and I tend to go with SWARM on SWARM. I also believe that HAVOC will receive a quick turn-around back into the fed, although NOT with the Glads in their current form. I don't know about any other updates that I would consider to be "locks". Tom has never said that the tag team that breaks up will be updated, or even stay in the fed (if it's BIG THINGS, I'm hoping for at least a BETRAYER update). If it is BIG THINGS, they both have singles cards anyways, so updates would not be NECESSARY, just cool.
So the $64,000 question: heavy on the new blood, or a strong emphasis on refreshing existing characters?

Speculation:
I'm expecting Swarm as an LE, to be honest. We can pretty much count on Panther Warrior getting a tag partner, and a female Gladiator. The women's division is strong enough that we don't need more than one female wrestler this set. Don't know about any new big guns, but I think a new mid-to-high-card face would be welcome. I reckon Antak will either update or retire. Ditto Slave Beast. Wouldn't surprise me if Sly Drury's on the way out, for that matter.
My personal preference would be for mostly new guys, a couple of updates and one non-wrestler (manager/valet/member of staff).

I hope it's mostly updates, because i think the fed size has been just about right and I dont think we need an influx of new guys. It creates a bloated fed where it's hard to give the mid and undercard guys proper attention.

HAVOC SWARM THE AMAZING MANN SLAVE BEAST (New name) SLY DRURY NEW GUY NEW FEMALE GLADIATOR TAURAN US MALE VIDTEK
MONOLITH LE
From knowing how the man thinks and listening him talk about the game at Galacticon during the wrap session this would be my best guess at a line-up. Of course I could be totally wrong but I'm sure I've got to be right about a few of them.

I think Gryt will get a new card if/when Big Things break up. If U.S. Male and American Guy split, then yes, U.S. Male needs a new card.
Pretty sure a Vidtek card is in the works for sometime in the future, if not 2122.

If not in 2122, I expect both Payback and Tristan are in line for updates in the near future. I think Swarm is pretty much a lock to get a new card.

I think Swarm has got it pretty much down. Just one question/comment.. What do you guys think or guess will happen to Dead Ringer? I hope he doesn't do a "Gatekeeper" and don't think he will. I also think due to his storyline that behind the mask has to be SOMETHING pretty big... The purpose of this is any chance that the Ringer could be Havoc? ... That be cool.

I'd like to see more updates. The GWF could use 2-4 more wrestlers than it has now, but they don't all have to be added in the same year. The cruiserweight division could use a little boost. Havoc with a new non-tag specialist, maybe.

Slave Beast and Sly Drury would be nice. I would love a Havoc card though.

New female Gladiator? I don't know if anyone could ever match the legend that was Thrash, but I'd love to see Tom try.
