Before I read the post just by the title I thought either Rhino or Polar Bear so I went Rhino. Would Joe be Shamu?

Umaga would be a dated caricature that exploits racial stereotypes. I guess that animal would have to be a human, so I went with other.

Hippos are mean, nasty and aggressive. EDIT* Let's not forget ungodly powerful. If I'm not mistaken more people in Africa are attacked by Hippos than any other animal. Thanks discovery channel.

It must suck to hate on things so many other people like and enjoy. Umaga is way over right now and you sit there and complain about him like an old man complaining about kids running on his lawn. You have no kid left in you and I feel sorry for your old soul.

And I voted Hippo too.
Joe would be like a fat walrus or something.
And you could basically make a whole Ani Man ROH set full of mites and fleas.
Write that down.

You yell at Hegemony for hating then you dis RoH? C'mon man, show a little love.
Anyay, I don't want to de-rail...
Hippo kinda makes sense, but they're not generally very ferocious. I think an Orangatan (sp) or Gorilla would be slightly better, but I could go either way.

I think Umaga has an uncanny resemblence to a large pile of Rhino feces thats had a day or two to dry up under the sun,

No, they'd be more like dung beetles. That aren't depictions of racial stereotypes and actually wrestle. Stereotypes have been a part of wrestling forever but Umaga is NOT a stereotype. Does this mean all Samoans are huge awesome wrestlers?

Does this mean all Samoans are huge awesome wrestlers? Just because they have been a part of wrestling for a long time does not make it a good thing, does it. Slavery was around for a long time in this country, but that certainly was not a good thing. To argue that things have always been that way eliminates the potential for making thiings better, which is very sad and very dangerous. And to say Umaga, a savage animal that is "sub-human" from an exotic island is not a sad comment on racial stereotyping is either the result of not paying attention or looking at the world through WWE colored lenses. Open your eyes!!

You know what you are a cool guy Hegemony but you really have no idea what the word "wrestling" really means in terms of pro wres.
If you did you would understand that Umaga is one of the best "wrestlers" on the planet right now and that is why he is one of two guys hand picked to fight in one of the highest publicized matches in recent history.
He's made it. Give the guy credit.

Wow. We're talking about a totally awesome fake wrestling heel and you compare it to slavery? I'm actually really offended.

Particularly for marginalized or historically oppressed groups.
