There is no way Commissioner Carter would have ever gotten the job if he had been kin to anybody that had anything to do with the debacle that is TNA. EDIT: But... It's up to you, promoter!

That is a pretty interesting co-incidence, especially when Commisioner Carter has that southern gentleman thing going with his look... he does look like a man who enjoys a fine cigar and mint julep...
Of course, way back when Tom created the character in the early 90's, it was named after friend and artist Chuck Carter. It's not as if Tom has the ability to travel time and know the future. Tom simply has a very realistic and fully realized vision of the future of professional wrestling because he is a brilliant writer. Tom doesn't have access to time travel.
...right?

WRONG! he does have access to time travel ...his gaming system is still ahead of its time.

Also, I believe Zachary (Commissioner Carter's first name) is Chuck's son's name. I could be wrong on that, though.

Chuck? Or Tom? Tom, yeah maybe. But Chuck I met at the Con the year he came and spoke to him on the phone once during the Club Galactica days. So I can't say I ever really "knew" him. But I do seem to remember Tom saying that he gave the commish that name to commemorate Chuck's son being born.
