Can't imagine why someone would play the basic version of COTG myself, but I still see Tom sticking both PIN ratings on there year after year.

In my first run with the game, when I reached the Sudden Death years, I was having about 12 matches per card. To save time, usually for the first two matches of a card I'd use the basic rules, because 9X out of 10 these matches were just fillers that had nothing to do with the storylines.
Other than that, advanced all the way.

the basic rules help the newbies learn the game.then they can move on to advanced.

I would like to know how many people who chose "advanced" also use the ch charts considering they are part of the advanced game rules.
Personally, I love them and use them each and every time. No exceptions.

I will be the first to admit that i don't use the choices charts. I have never really been a big fan of them because it seems like it slows you down some, unless you have memorized them and I havn't. The other reason I don't like them is it makes it kinda pointless you put the actual move on the card if it is just going to be automatically choice.

I just change it up. For example, if a wrestler is succesful on the choice chart, sometimes I just say he hits the - 3 move that comes before it,..
works for me.

I only played the basic rules for the very first matches I ever played- I just wanted to start playing right away and it was quicker to learn the basic rules first. But since my first few matches, I've done nothing but advanced.

I have a house rule around the choice charts because I try to make as few choices for the guys as possible. But I do use them.
If you are playing against someone else you should definately use the choice charts, as it adds strategy to the game. For my tournament at G-con this year Choice Charts are manditory. I'm sure Swarm will like that.

Gotta use the choice charts. If you don't, you're mostly eliminating the agility and power stats from the game.

yep. And if you do that, it's just all the same guys with different finisher ratings and pin ratings. yay.
