This is a question I'd pondered for quite some time and never really knew how to bring it up... In LOW, we have wrestlers that span over 80 years, and we're encouraged to mix and match and see "what would happen if Frank Gotch took on King Kong Bundy?"... In CotG we have wrestlers that span over 40 years, but we stick close to a metaplot...Guys that have retired (one way or another) after a few years are no longer used, and we keep with an ever-evolving storyline and, as such, history... What would happen if you were to make a GWF Fed, but ignore the timeline and just use wrestlers from Early Classics to New Beginnings..? Of course you'd only be able to use one version (likely the strongest, but not necessarily) of a given wrestler...but it would make for an interesting read, much like all th LOW feds...Matchups like Omega in his prime vs. Chaos...Thantos vs. Disaster...Galactic Punisher vs. Endgame...Brute and Massacre vs. The Master Race... Or, I'm on crack, and I shouldn't meddle with such things... Anyway, curious as to how this would be accepted...

I started doing this a while back (before I restarted when EArly Classics came out) I was in 2096, and I was missing the originals, so I started a fed with all the retired cards, totally using my own feuds (I remember having Comrade Terror and Pit Viper as a heel tag teamm for example)
I was fun for a bit, but I found it was difficult to maintain new and interesting ideas over the long term, basically starting from scratch is tough.
If you have a lot of ideas, though, it definately could work!

If anyone can do it, it's one of you two!

Anything is possible and I could totally see this working. I know myself I could pull it off and still make it fun to play. I mean for those of us who play Legends and can see past the "eras". This is a no brainer.
I am all for it, if folks are looking for a challenge and to shake things up. And in the immortal words of our fearless leader: "It's your Fed Promoter!"

Splattercat, I know some folks around here will have a temper tantrum for you even thinking such a thing, but I say go for it. It's your game, you own it, have fun.

Wasn't that somewhat the concept behind GWFF or whatever it was called. The champions were even posted in the Promoter for awhile.

You know I noticed something...The top and bottom options were added as a gag...it happens in virtually every poll, an option or two for laughs not to be taken seriously...So i wonder who it was that checked the bottom one but didn't leave a comment... That's kinda funny...

I'm all for makeing up my own storylines. I don't follow the storylines tom wrote, I think of myself as not a follower, but an adventurer. The game is all about keeping the fueds going, but the fun is how you the promoter decide how to do it. Like in my fed I have star warrior as a bad guy and teaming with thantos against his family. That takes alot of nerve to do an angle like that, but makes for an interesting storyline.

The cotg is all about you being a promoter. Your the boss of your fed and you run it like you want to. After I voted for this poll I sat here and started thinking. For me its hard to get into just one federation and trying to keep the storylines interesting. So I took my wrestlers ( 138) and made two federations, kinda like wwe and wcw. I put 28 wrestlers in each, with plenty of new comers to come in. I find cotg more interesting with more than one federation going and the storylines are just popping out of my head. Thanks splattercat for giveing me a new idea on how to do my federation.

No problem... As I mentioned, the idea had been cruising around in my grey matter for quite some time, and I just didn't know how to put it out there...This idea is by no means intended to replace how Champions of the Galaxy was intended to be played...Nor would it, even in our case, substitute running the full 40+ year history of the GWF from Early Classics to New Beginnings...It's what started it all, and the ongoing story is awesome... Truth be told, I'm not even sure the GWF Fed Forum would be appropriate for such an endeavour...Myself personally, I'd probably put it in the LOW Fed Forum, just to avoid confusion...if that makes any sense...

I'd still put in in the GWF forum.. its still the GWF guys... if you were mixing real wrestlers with GWF guys, I'd say whatever floats your boat.
Perhaps one of the mods will wander by and give you a definate verdict.
