I was thinking...wouldnt it be a great idea to release a game edition with 10 new character ? Rather than updates. What do you guys think?

Depends ? on who is been updated and do they need updating . Though I would still buy any sets that had 10 updated wrestlers or 10 new wrestlers or 50-50 mix . 10 new wrestlers would bring in loads of new angles and ideas . Is 10 to many ? . I mean if WWE or TNA done it . Probably only 3-4 would get known , the other would probably get lost in the stampede .

I say no. The GWF got overcrowded really fast because of the influx of so many new characters. I think by 2096 (when I stopped playing during my first run) there were 71 active wrestlers, way too many IMO.
I like the "half new, half updates" idea.

It would be interesting in 2120 if it had happened, but it just gets tooooo crowded! After playing my own bootleg fed and Legends, I'm going to catch up a bit and am playing 2105. It's overwhelming on how many characters.
I'll say 5-6 new, maybe 3-4 updates, 1 woman, 1 manager

Yeah, I agree. I'm in 2089 and 2119 right now, and i'm not looking forward to the days of 70-80 guys being on the active roster. It just makes it SO difficult to get all the guys in meaningful stories.

Right on. When I reach that point again in my new run with the game, I think I'll do a roster split.

Personally, I also wouldn't want an entire set of new wrestlers. In addition to the overcrowding already mentioned on this thread, it might lead to even more updates and fewer new wrestlers in upcoming sets to counterbalance the set of only completely new wrestlers. I think the updates are part of what makes COTG so great as wrestlers improve and regress in their skills as they advance in age-just like in real life.

i hear what you guys are saying. just thought this would be the right time to do it. i mean you bring in 3 new tag teams ( 6 characters ) and 4 singles.

I like the idea of 10 new wrestlers in a set but as it was already said that could cause problems with overcrowding again

If Tom did something like this, to add to my earlier thoughts, I think it would have to follow a "sudden death" series, or be at a time when a good number of guys (5 or more) were retiring/leaving for some reason.
At the same time, while I love seeing new guys, I think updates get me even more excited. There's just something about seeing the way these guys change over the years that makes me giddy like a schoolgirl. I mean...school boy. Ahem.

I say no as well. The overcrowding was exactly what drove Tom (at least partially) to New Beginnings. I think a slow influx is the way to go.

I like the current size of the GWF roster and would prefer to have 6-7 updates to 4-3 newcomers. If you look at the WWE a lot of characters change thier gimmick within 4-5 months.

It would really strain the storylines to bring so many new guys in. Unless you brought in two teams of 4 to feud with each other and then two others it would be hard to write.
I'd like to see some previous stars start coming back though.

I would have to say that 4-5 new characters and the rest being upgrades/downgrades or managers...if the fed becomes too overcrowded than it will become clunky again and hard for the characters to get spotlighted again.

I don't think that this would be a good idea. I like a small fed, It gives me a chance to use the wrestlers more and kind of get into them so to speak.
