Editorial from CNA commentator Dextan Arboun
When will the madness stop?
That's what all Centrans should be asking in this time of crisis. Not a day goes by that we don't turn on the news channels like the one you're watching right now or read in the newspaper where another young Centran soldier was killed fighting this so-called "Holy War" against the hordes of Murdok or skirmishs against our allies, the Ravagers.
Who's to blame for the slaughtering of innocent lives? Who is responsible for us being in this quagmire that the battle for Centra has become?
Let me give you a hint, you see him almost nightly, spinning the war to suit his own personal agenda...Aegis!
Now I support the troops, we all do, but we, as a people, cannot turn a blind eye while this man almost single-handedly destroys what little creditibility Centra-Prime still has.
He's turned our only allies, the Ravagers, against us with his reckless behavior. How can they trust us? We act like we're the supreme power in this dimension when any forth-grader could tell you there is four distinct powers that must come together despite our differences, if we're to have a future.
Just last year, Aegis broke the treaties set in place by the aCe with a sneak attack on Murdok's domain in what he said was an attempt to rescue his wife. Several members of the ROC lost their lives, including the lovable Rouser, and still Aegis had nothing to show for it, but a rising body-count.
Did Aegis truely expect Murdok to keep to the aCe doctrine when he himself refuses to uphold it? I believe this proves that most of the Ramparts wrestling team are just phony soldiers, clueless on how to conduct a war, but hellbent, on justifying it. It just makes me sick to think of the young lives ruined by Aegis' ego-driven actions.
And what about Murdok's army of zombies? How soon we forget that many of them were once our loved ones and there are many doctors and professionals that say that a cure is in the works, but it's hard to cure someone that has been blasted to pieces, right Aegis?
Now, I was excited by the aCe when it was announced a few years back, because I thought that all four factions working together to hold a wrestling federation together was a good start, but I guess that wasn't good enough for our beloved leader of armed services. My hope, and the growing hope of many Centrans is that we can find a way to meet Murdok and Rankor and Nicodemus and even Paganax, not on the battlefield or even in a wrestling ring, but at the negotiation table before it's too late.
God Bless the ROC!
