New Match?

With COTGonline the possibilites will reveal themselves to be endless as we keep thinking of stuff.

I happened to be thinking about something, inspired by the Torture Chamber thread.

With aCe 2121 due out a little later than March (due to its simultaneous release with Online), we've got some extra time to add a couple of new matches with the Ultimatum set.

There's already one in the works actually, an awesome version of a Centrapolis Street Fight that BDS has put together. But, let's come up with one more.

Feel free to toss ideas around here and I'll try and pick the coolest one or two ideas and come up with some kind of chart. Also feel free to elect a version of something that's already been done that we can make "official" and I can translate (if it even needs translating) into an aCe style fight. Obviously the creator of the match would have to be contacted, so no real old obscure stuff if you can help it.


Here's an initial idea or two:

A remodeling of any of the existing official aCe matches: Centra Coffin Match, Lava Pits of Primus Match, Antilian Ruins Match, Nightmare Matrix Match.

A GWF match that a GWF vet in the aCe can introduce? Like the "aCe Torture Chamber" or something like that.

No, that was the Total Anarchy match wasn't it? I think Nightmare Matrix was Ravager work. As for a new match, perhaps something weapon based?

Well, you could always say that ALL Primus fighters (that's natives...Paganax, Jakyll, Krypt, and Grovel) are imune to the stone throwing results in a Lava Pit Match (and I already do. Hybryd still gets it because native Primative hate him).
As for "new" matches...how about somthing for the Mothership where the object is to throw your opponent out an airlock? Or maybe some sort of Crypt match, like Buried Alive style? Just throwing things out there.

Yeah a mothership match would be cool. I like the sound of a new chamber match maybe for entire teams like Wargames from WCW.

Wargames (WCW) style match sounds cool.

Love the idea of faction vs. faction in a cage of some sort...makes perfect sense for the new title belt too.

Here are my rules but they are too clunky.(Bare with me I came up with these when I was about 10) Ive combined the Rigel Royal Rumble and Torture chamber. Ive done it this way for years
Any suggestions or changes are welcome. This just sounds good for aCe to me.

Wargames: the match beyond(for those of you who dont know a wargames match is between two teams of 4 or 5 inside two rings right next to each other. These rings are covered by a giant double cage with a top on it.)

-One man from each team starts the match.
-After a predetermined time period(2-5 minutes usually) flip a coin and the winning team gets the first advantage.
-Team with the advantage then puts there next member in the cage giving a 2 on 1 advantage for the next time period.
-New wrestlers may attack anyone in the cage with lv 2 offense.
-After the first flip teams alternate until both teams have filled the cage.
-The match does not start until all members of both teams have filled the cage.
-The match can not be won until all members of both teams are in the cage.
-Use cage ratings
-use cage rules for out of the ring
-All Pin rolls are add 1 until all members are in the cage
-A team wins when one member of a team submits,surrenders or can not continue.
-Losing team member is automatically injured . Roll 1 die for injury.

(now here is where its up to you)
-A member must have 10 fatigue tokens or more to be eligible for surrender(standard submission or pinfall victory)
or
-3 fall torture chamber rule form a member of either team loses the match for his team.

Ding Ding. I think we have a winner.

I definately like the idea of a new team special match. Right now its just the Aethran Escape match and Tag Elimination, thats about it.

I also like each of the 4 home planets having its own specal match. Primus and Antilla are covered. Looks like Centrapolis will get theres. That leaves the Mothership. I use Nightmare Matrix as the Ravager match now, but something more official would be cool.

I second, third, fourth, or twenty-eighth the Wargames concept for aCe.

I did a match a ways back I called the Neptunian Jungle Brawl...

it was basically a falls count anywhere match ith Jungle elements... Tiger attack, bask with Rock, attempt to drown in the river, etc.

It could definately be easily adapted for Primus.

I'm not sure I'd want war games in aCe.. I would have to be pretty final, and might make continuing on after difficult if the bad guys win.

Anyone ever seen THE RUNNING MAN? If you could turn that concept into a match of some sort or a "Trial" so to speak I could see that fitting in sweet w aCe...

Wow, I remember, many years ago, I brainstormed Running Man aspects for the GWF.....I don't know that I ever came up with anything -- but I agree about that being a cool fit, especially for aCe.

Feel free to use my Battlezone match. It's a cross between elimination chamber and war games matches. I posted it in the House Rules forum here.
