What character would you want Tom to create 'officially' more than any other?
A female Animan or other type of male animan, a totally new race (please describe), a futuristic copy of some current wrestling star, you name it!
I think mine would be an LE of Torin Caelum in his prime...heck, he might've given Monolith or Disaster a run for their money. Waddayathink?

An updated Monolith card with 3 level 3 moves on level 2 offense and only one down...
I want an unstoppable force in my fed and Monolith is good, but he is not even close to being unbeatable...
I want him to be on the level where Endgame and Disaster have a hard time beating him...
as it is, Disaster owns him.

After all this time, there have been wrestlers that came and went whom I loved but, being largely a stickler for Tom's official storyline, had to let go...but the one wrestler I just can't let go and would love to see back, age be damned, is Janus the Overman.
He was the Ric Flair of my fed. I forget offhand how many times he won the top title (I think at least ten) but he was BY FAR the most successful wrestler in my fed's 20 year history. And I dug the whole Alexander the Great type style of his gimmick.
As it is, I have him in my CPC as a wrestler/manager type. I feel fine tinkering with the CPC, but with the GWF I just can't veer from Tom's roster.

I would love to see my booter Apocalypse(with a name change of course) become part of the official GWF storyline , IMO his potential has yet to be realized in my fed...he's the Undertaker of my fed, with a bit of tweaking i feel he could be a valuable part of Tom's vision. the same with my booter Blade(and a name change of course)...he's the Chris Benoit of my fed...not overly chrismatic but a guy with a great workrate and he could possibly set up a chrisma vs. workrate debate.

I seriously considered doing an Ani-woman, prior to deciding on my character. So I guess my dream character would fall into that category, although I think HUNGER and SERPENTINE may have already been the first 2. I'm also looking forward to the next female Gladiator; THRASH was too obvious for my tastes, and I think that there are really unique possibilities for females from those 2 races.
To give a little back story, AMAZONIA and THRASH are two of the most, if not THE most respected competitors in our fed's history, so women's wrestling has always been taken a little more seriously in our neck of the woods than in some feds (Tom's included it seems).

My dream character would be a genetically created submission/suplex master. He would be an awkward fellow with five arms and five legs. He would have a face and personality largely like the Cookie Monster, and his name would be Grabby McPincherton, Pincholm Grabbingham, or maybe even Subsqueeze McBearhugplex. Inside the ring he would be a menace, but outside the ring he would be oh so cuddly! Yes, my dreeeeeeam wrestler, ahhhh...

From the Classics Era Torin Caelum in his prime would have been sweet. He has a Lou Thesz type of appeal and in the guide book his best days were hinted at but never revealed...I'd love to see a payoff from that teaser. From that same time frame an upgraded Dorado Sundown would have been killer. I was a huge fan of DS and hated to see their time in the GWF end so quickly. After they left the tag scene went into sort of a 'dark ages' period. Honorable mention for an upgraded Massif. I think the big man had a lot of unfulfilled potential and a competitive feud with Chaos would have been really fun to play out. Once more frequent sets and new faces hit the scene...he seemed to bump his head against the creative glass ceiling and fall to the wayside.
LWPD (upgraded stats and a new picture for Matador were something I had always hoped for back in the day...but it just never came to fruition...a colorized 'alternate history' version would be my dream card)

He was at his best for me as a noble face in the FDF.

Paint,
I agree with you so much about the Matador. He was one of my favourites, but he came too early. His moveset was effective stat-wise, but not descriptively. Things like body slam, and head rammer were so mundane.
My first "bootleg" if you can call it that, was a Matador remake made from a scanned picture of Vega from SFII that I found that was such a sweet pic, with the same card back, except for all the level 3 moves I renamed them things like shining wizard and split legged moonsault to make him a little more contemporary.
I am catching up and am in 2094 now, and the hardest thing I find is the moveset compared to modern wrestling. Tom has been influenced (quite understandably) by contemporary wrestling in movesets. It is the only thing that dates the game. I think that is the only non BTB thing I do...change all the finishers, although I have to write them down so I know what they all are ! I think that is why I like the cards with so many named (but not described) specialist moves. That was incredibly far ahead of its time. I don't recall any wrestlers naming any of their moves except their finisher when Tom started doing that.

There's definitely truth to that Welsh...not only with the movesets but with many of the types of fleshed out personas, the introduction order of specialty matches and the chronology of officially 'sanctioned' titles. In a way it's a creative aid in that it helps to 'date' the content for players who gone on to develop a complete history. Subsequent game editions introduce newer 'real life' pro wres elements over time...which gives an element of 'time' having meaning. In the same sense the retro Classics Editions do a good job of creating a US 70's style type of vibe.
I've always done that myself...along with 'variations' on how the name moves can be executed. Adding more variety by putting the imagination to use has always made the game more fun to play.
LWPD (who used Star Warrior's 'Running Star Blast' as everything from a Rolling Elbow to a Corkscrew Neckbreaker to a Springboard Lariat)

I want him to be on the level where Endgame and Disaster have a hard time beating him... as it is, Disaster owns him. I have noticed that characters with inconsistent finishers and/or 2 downs on L3O (ie. Monolith) generally don't do as well against the elite guys who have one down and solid, consistent finishers. I think this is why Thantos, Chaos, and Pegasus all dominated and why Disaster can have success against Monolith. I agree that you need to take away the one down and make his finisher hit every time then he'd just be a much better version of Disaster. Also, Endgame's superior offense wouldn't be as effective on Monolith.

How about Owen Hart - well something close anyway, To honor him and what he sacrificed for the fans and his family. Short but sweet.

A truly DOMINATE Gladiator.
For a race obsessed with wrestling as much as Aethrans are i cannot believe that we don't have a Gladiator who is just plain the BEST guy the GWF has ever seen.
