I was playing my Jan. PPV last night, building towards a big federation wide event the following night, when the dice just wouldn't cooperate on anything. Divided we Fall was (is) set for a push to the tag titles and they take an easy win over the Gladiators. Suddenly, Rage snaps and according to the dice, takes out Encubus for 4 cards, putting any title run off for at least a month. American Guy comes back from an injury and Stars and Stripes take the tag titles (for the 9th time) from the seemingly unbeatable Master Race. The plan was to turn American Guy against US Male after the loss... So this didn't work out at all. Strangely enough, the last 3 title reigns of S&S have all come from beating the Master Race. I don't know why, but they've really got their number.
Biggest of all, Monolith suffered his first loss to TAURAN of all people and lost the Heavyweight title and screwing with the whole "unbeaten monster champion". I assumed Monolith would chew him up as he had everyone else I put in front of him but not only did Tauran beat him, he took him apart, making him look like a chump. This really, really screws up the Main Event I was building to in Feb at my "Invasion" PPV. Monolith's final record was something like 20-0, just short of Endgame's record of 24-0.
Not really any kind of question, just needed to blow off some steam. D*MN DICE!

Two things to be learned here...
1) Nobody uses The Gladiators as stepping stones...
2) Tauran is a beast. One of the all-time best champs in my fed for sure.

The Glads have been absolutely putrid for me, I don't know what happened here.. As For Tauran, I'm starting to see him in a "Bret Hart" kind of role. Just going in and getting it done. I am still shocked at the decimation of Monolith. I even had the Dark Menace get into it and TRIED to get Monolith DQed just to save my main event. Tauran just wouldn't be denied that day.

Monolith's biggest problem seems to be guys with mulitple finishers or add 1s.

Yeah, the dice can play havok on storylines! Also, the dice will chrun out some unexpected results every now and then. As Chris Berman would say, "That's why they play the game!"

The key to beating Monolith is getting on Level 3 Offense and wearing him down. Chaos does this best, and I can see Tauran doing the same. The Gladiators as an easy win, thats just silly right there. How about Big Things...outside of Swarm's fed thats a real easy win. I've had some dice rolls result in some undesired events in the past. Usually I work with them, but sometimes the die just happens to conveniently fall off the table.

While Swarm is right about Tauran, that is quite an upset. Perhaps you could run an angle with it. Claim Monolith was not in100% shape. Either that or have The Dark Mencace complain about the ref and his slow count or bad positioning, kind of like what Don King did when Buster Douglass knocked out Mike Tyson. If Tauran's run is long, he can be booked as the underdog, like Rocky.

I let the dice do its work before I kill myself over a storyline. Once the dice have done its job, I go from there.

I think everyone has been there. I have had soo many upsets due the dreaded 'snake-eyes' roll that I cant count them all! I have started writing down and somehow keeping track of short matches and upset rolls like these... now, finally...

Tauren is good for a few upsets in my fed as well. His 3 finishers are something to marvel...

Same thing happened to me with Monolith and Swarm. Swarm gave Monolith his first loss in his second match. Ruined the momentum I tried to build for the monster heel. Yours sounds worse though having your title and main event involved. I say invoke a rematch the next night with a impromptu title match and if that doesnt work just run with Tauran. Whats the worse that could happen. Tauran becomes a credible force in your fed? I hate Tauran but lemons and lemonade I guess. Swarm was in a slump for me before the win over Monolith and it turned his year around. I made a whole feud out of it and having Monolith just try and ruin Swarms life by interefering in matches and slapping She-Devil around. The Animan would still squeeze a victory here or there. Now Swarms back in fighting shape and Monolith is back on track having Swarm as someone who just gets under his skin. Kinda reminds me of when Shelton beat HHH. Now Gladiators as stepping stones... I got no advice for that one.

Two finishers and an add 1 for Tauran, right? Don't have the card in front of me and am too lazy to go get it upstairs. But that's almost as formidable.
When dice don't cooperate, I've learned that you've just got to make the best of it and create a story around what actually happened rather than what you wish would happen. The frustration is no less, though, so I'm with you there!

Damn (Okay Ron ha ha) Dices . That is what makes COTG game miles better than say WWE . In WWE could you see Tauran beating Monolith ? In COTG anything can and usually does happen .

The roll of the dice. It makes COTG so unique. Roll them, then create the story line. So wonderful, even WE dont know whats going to happen!!

That is what makes this game so great, you never know when the dice might change your plans.
They are evil I tell you, just plain evil.

The dice give a fed the equivalent of a film noir movie. Sometimes, things happen for no reason at all. Why else do you explain Mutant winning a battle royal in 2089 to become the first Interplanetary champion?
