I work in the Financial District in NYC and for the last six weeks UFC has literally papered everywhere with ads for Huerta/Guida on Spike TV. Bowling Green, Wall Street, Fulton....it's all over the subways. Bodog tried this same strategy for the Fedor/Lindland PPV and it flopped. It'll be interesting to see if Zuffa can pick up some casuals with a free airing.
Ironically there's _NOTHING_ being done here ad wise to promote UFC 79.

Could be the main event that haulted that campaign. If Speer wins will the internet explode? Will J-Rock finally show his ground skills on that upper decker with tattoos and a sad sad story. Will Dan Berrera take the fight to the third round? How will Miles overcome Sotiropoulos? Oh yeah Clay and Roger will fight each other while the crowd swoons and moans(BLEH!). I'll man up some predictions... because its troll bait Roger wins a split decision. Speer by GnP in round two J-Rock by GnP in round one Sotiropoulos by submission round 1 Troy by KO in round 1 Arroyo by submission in round 1 (another good link for TUF 6 info) www.ifilm.com/lineup/22307

I'm really looking forward to this.
As for picks I only bet UD...there's no money in Danzig -160 or Guida -125 (who I'd go with). There's no point to it.
On my radar as worth taking a chance on:
John Kolosci +250 (JK has strength and heart...something Arroyo didn't show...this line is way too high to pass on)
Billy Miles +300 (another line that makes no sense...Miles is capable of GnPing his way to a decision)

Jared Rollins vs. John Koppenhaver and Roger Huerta vs. Clay Guida were both money. Rollins/Koppenhaver was just brutal and I enjoyed Guida's caveman double fist on Huerta. Good stuff all around.

Clay needs to lose the hair! War Machine showed alot of heart. That sucks that Mac Danzig wont stay at 170. We all know the next coaches for TUF 7 are Juanito and some of the xtreme Couture staff. If I was young fighter without a name I'd jump on this TUF. Those two camps have turned two faultering careers around. Besides that we get a huge charisma boost with Forrest and Rampage (they have more then Hughes, BJ, Pulver, Serra combined!!!!). Maybe Magog will see Jackson in a better light now that he has found god and matured a little bit.
TUF 6 fighters I am sold on; Tommy Speer and George Sotiropoulus Could be up and comers; Matt Arroyo, Jon Koppenhaver, and Ben Saunders. Unproven; Joey Scarola, Jared Rollins and Roman Mitichyan. Rehab skills/press reset button; John Kolosci, Troy "Rudeboy", Dan Berrera, and Richie Hightower C level; Blake Bowman, Dorian Price, Billy Miles, and Paul Georgieff.

Yes Clay does need to lose the Hair... It's like watching Mark Hunt throw 3 punches and pull up his shorts.
If Mack gets killed at light weight I'm sure he'll change his mind. As for Page... It always killed me how alot of his hard core sherdog fans always blamed him going down hill on him finding God.
I know Jacksons likeable. Hell two of my friends who loved Chuck.. have already warmed up to him. I'm unhappy with his quick road to the belt in the ufc amoung other things.
I'll probrably start liking him after he loses and if he handles himself well. I like jumping on sinking ships.

If Rampage lost to Chuck then Chuck and Henderson would have happened. If Chuck won that. Then UFC 79 match with Wanderlei would have been for the title.
The thing about Rampage is no one is questioning him as the #1 champ. Everyone is questioning who should face him. In the end we still have this mindset "WHATS GOOD FOR THE SPORT?" when thats not the mindset of UFC brass. Its "WHATS GOOD FOR THE UFC?" Forrest Griffin is good for the UFC but is he good for the sport? I don't think anything that the UFC does right now is good for anything but its brand. So if the UFC going to be the all consuming 600 pound gorilla why havn't they gotten bigger? More TV shows? Tier leagues? Offical Ranking by JOEL SILVA( not Dana). If the UFC is going to become the Kleenex® of tissue paper then lets see them do it. Enough of this pussyfooting.

we still have this mindset "WHATS GOOD FOR THE SPORT?"
We white man? Oh No I'm all about what's good for the ufc. If the ufc went under trying to right on what's for mma I'd be hard core pi$$ed off.
I like the pace the ufc is advancing at. I'd like to see it spill over into Mexico next. Maybe Brazil and I'd be a happy mma fanboy.
We're already seen it in England. It's a start. Why isn' the ufc in Japan? Beats me. I doubt any of us really know the exact reason.. or rather more likely reasons.. why it isn't.

First you start assuming my race was Asian and now this? Whats your deal. Race has no place here and my race has nothing to do with you or this conversation! Stop. They've already done Brazil and Mexico is probably going to happen(anybody who watched last night could see that). They bought a nice peice of Japan and gutted it.

Rehab skills/press reset button; John Kolosci, Troy "Rudeboy", and Richie Hightower C level; Blake Bowman, Dorian Price, Billy Miles, and Paul Georgieff. I'm sold on: George...he has a winner's attitude (good to see he was training full time with Team Serra) improving stand up and slick ground skills. I think he has a real future if he can pace himself. Speer didn't even seem like he wanted to be in there...he was openly worried about 'the farm' and was totally unprepared. I question if he really wants to be a fighter. Could be up and comers; Matt Arroyo (agreed...B Level but training full time with Serra (a sign that Coach Serra did build enduring relationships) is a great career move. War Machine has star quality charisma. If you watch the way he was marketed you could tell Zuffa sees something in him...and the 100% effort/humble crying promo at the end is the type of thing viewers connect with emotionally. I could see him positioned as a 'win or lose gives all he has' crowd favorite that gets constant fights on UFNs...and there's money to be made in that role. Who is he training with? J-Rock scored some serious points as well last night. He 'put on a show' which is more important to Zuffa than winning uneventfully. He'll be back. The rest of the guys are hit and miss. Saunders looked ok but with his height advantage I was expecting more. Rude Boy will likely lose to anyone with decent ground skills. I think WEC is in most of these guys immediate futures. Scarola will likely be black balled.

War Machine is a Class A phony A$$wipe who gave a whoa is me, feel sorry for me speech right before he lost on the show. I had no feeling either way but after blathering on about how - "I deserve it more because I don't have anything else," I could care less. I'm all for feeling sorry for the guy but he took it up a notch. Then he takes a dump in the upper tank of Team Hughes' toilet. Classy. War Machine will always be the a$$wipe that did the UpperDecker just like Chris Leben will always be the guy that pi$$ed in someone's beds. Both are complete jerkoffs but for some reason, this retarded behavior endears them to people, WTF.

We White man is a saying. it's a line from the TV show back in the day. I think it was lone ranger talking to Tonto (or was it the other way around?) Any ways it wasn't meant to be some huge race divide.. Wow... kids these days.
It was me saying "Hay DUCE, YOU DON'T speak for me!" Mr... "HAy Magog you gotta learn there is no we!"

You know Havoc.. you strike me as the kinda guy.. if someone gave you B.S.... one day and his father died the next you'd giggle and laugh at him.
I'm not saying your really wrong.. But damn your rough. DO you have a father Havoc? Well War doesn't right now. I feel bad for him. I guess I'm a easy mark. Besides if you need a real reason to feel bad for him... Ken Shamrock use to train him. God.... if that doesn't invoke pity you really are a soul less SOB. (that last part was a joke).
Is it possible that War is a little mental? All happy and than all down a moment later? (manic depressent?) Wouldn't be the first fighter who has mental problems.
I think he's legit.
But besides him taking it up a notch. People do stupid crap all the time every damn season in that damn house. Lets suppose we we're on the show... just lost.. and where drinking in the evening. I bet I could goad you into doing some fairly retarded things if you were down and mentally out (and drunk).

Fight finder says "GAMEBRED", he has trained with the lion's den, and if you remember the "trains with Phil Baroni" mention during the fight. He was a part of Mark Coleman's HAMMERHOUSE and fought in a TEAM GRACIE vs. TEAM HAMMMERHOUSE event. You know he works that no parents line alot and has many many friends.
