Different people of different background, cultures, etc. speak in different ways. Many people here have a southern drawl. People from other countries have accents. If there are black people that speak in a different manner than you, I don't know why it would offend you so much.

I don't participate in many MMA conversations but I felt the need to weigh in on a couple things that Habbalah said about Rampage Jackson, and well, race.

1) Rampage Jackson is promoting himself. He has found a gimmick that has gotten him over with the general public and he is getting paid off of it.

You're rant about MMA on Ebonics and Black folks looking for "cheddah" (try and keep up, by the way: it's all about stacking paper and having floodwaters in your pockets these days) was completely uncalled for.

In sports such as MMA and boxing, self-promotion and the ability to connect are as important as actual talent. Don't believe me, ask Arturo Gatti, who has made a hell of a lot more money than superior fighters.

2) Your whole thing about everyone being racist sounded kind of dumb. I don't know what ethnicity you are, but bringing up your Black girlfriend doesn't make you sound any less racist. In fact, it makes her sound like a sell-out for dating someone who openly admits to having discriminatory tendencies toward people of her race.

Finally, since you apparently feel that you are entitled to talk about what the Black race needs to do to better itself, due no doubt to the fact that you date a Black chick, you should have remembered rule number one:

Keep the problems in house. It's one thing to talk about how to fix problems; it's quite another to go out and discuss those problems in front of the world and possibly giving ignorant people more ammunition to use against you.

This makes no sense. So, do you run around denying your (immediate) heritage out of fear of what some clown will think of you or do run around telling people you are mixed (or whatever the hell you are claiming to be) just to shock people?

When I brought up the term sell-out, I wasn't doing so to define someone who goes to school, gets and education, makes money and talks proper.

I'm using it to describe someone who thinks that the only way for a person to simultaneously be Black and accepted is to have a good education (or fronts like he does), make a lot of money (or fronts like he does) and talk proper. I'm using it to describe the type of person who is constantly remind everone around him of how much better you are than "that Black guy" that lives down the street from you who legitimately got an education, makes legitimate money, sounds intelligent without reminding people of early-Carlton Banks but also likes to listen to Lil' Wayne real loud and eats barbecue without worrying if he is reinforcing a stereotype.

Why should I expose myself to people in a fashion that could cause me grief I don't need in my life? Maybe I simply put don't trust people.

If I keep quite about what I am i don't have to hear "Oh.. your Mexican" (Polite PC white guy speak for ew). I don't have to see a big fake smile as someone pretends to be nice to me from that point on. That crap sickens me. I'd rather someone just come out and say what they want. By not admiting what I am.. I get to hear what people really think.... and not get the censored version.
