I've made a list of all active Heavyweight contentors who should fall into anyone's top 30. Also listing what their status is be it free, open, or exclusive contract. I've used the past three years due( --OCT04) to this past year being 'so crazy' with so many fighters contracts. I thought I'd share it here.

How was Nog Ricco's foughtest fight? He went the distance. I'd say your toughest fight would be one you couldn't finish.

Paul Buentello is on Strikeforce's website. I think he is under an open contract with strikeforce/elitexc. Mark Hunt is in the UFC and UFC weight classes are not the bottom line that all MMA promotions have to follow.


UFC should get Jake O'Brien, Brock, and Josh Barnett.

Further more the ufc does have Brock and guess what. He's not a top fighter. Beating up a hand picked K-1 can does not make you top ten. it doesn't even make you top 20.

As for Jake O'Brien the ufc already has one ultra dull heavy weight. He just beat Vera. Why in God's kingdom would Dana want another one?

So a few internet die hard mma fans can find out who's better and forsake putting on exciting fights that will appeal to the masses? Look I'd watch Jake fight again. But if I never see him fight again... I won't feel ripped off.

Does the ufc have every great heavy weight? Nah, there missing Fedor a few other top guys. But why shell out top dollar to get B level fighters (Like the Demolition man for instance).

And make no mistake about it... with his horrible stanima he'd get owned in the ufc.

And Josh picking a fight with Dana White stops him from getting his foot in the door.

Mark Hunt's contract is owned by UFC. As per Dana White. Google it. Jake O'Brien as a midcard fighter is good. Just because he was dull doesn't mean he will always be dull.

As for Jake O Brien, the ufc will most likely use him again some time in the future (most likely on a dark match). Fighters get lost in the shuffle. But in all honesty so what if he beat Heath Herring. Didn't Sam Greco? I don't see him fighting any where.
