Saw that there's some WEC on this Sunday, 2 shows to be accurate. Haven't seen it before, but am gonna check it out. Is it a regular deal on the VS network or what? Uriah Faber I've heard of from a show on NBC with MMA guys is on there. What's new with this?
I've watched Bodog on tv, but didnt' get much interest out of it... maybe it was because of the ring or the way they have the setting of the crowd. Hopefully the WEC is worth it.

I do believe it is a regular deal with Vs. which is cool by me. I will definitely be trying to catch this when it is on.
Bodog isn't bad but I can understand how you could not really be as pumped about a ring as you are about a cage.

It's a new deal on Vs. but supposed to be a regular deal. The WEC used to have a great contract with HDNet and I watched a lot of it there. It was pretty cool in HD, hopefully Vs. coverage is HD as well. I think the WEC is going to be huge as a minor league for the UFC since it is owned by them. I used to watch these guys and became a huge fan of James Irvin from WEC. Unfortunately that didn't work out well and neither did my following of Gabe. I did get to see Herpes Franca beat Gabes a$$ though. There will be up and comers to watch and names that have fallen out of favor to watch such as Leben, etc. Never write off fighters that had a bad stretch in UFC. Franca had an awful stretch and went elsewhere, then WEC and kicked butt. He went to UFC and kicked some more butt and now he gets a shot a Sherk. I didn't care for him at first but root for him now as I think I have seen more of his fights than anyones the last 2-3 years. WAR Herpes (Yes, I know that's not PC but it is still fun to say Herpes Franca). |

Got it TiVo'd for Sunday...both shows. I didn't know that the UFC bought WEC, but at least it's a real sport and it's more real when they keep the brands separate. Even if some of the UFC guys go to WEC or Pride, etc...it's a better feeling than WWE owning everything in the wrestling world.
