"Ultimate Fighter will have two fights tonight although we don't know how they mix-and-match. Team Penn has Gray Maynard and Matt Wiman, while Team Pulver has Marlon "world's greatest streetfighter" Sims and Wayne "weak link" Weems."
LWPD (Weems is a waste who's taking up a spot that could have been better filled by a legitimately promising fighter...at least in this episode we get two fights instead of more filler...hopefully the other three guys step it up)

You know I give Weems some credit- most people would have tapped, and he did not.

Andy Wang Video Remixtinyurl.com/3bhec3 LWPD (where did the producers find kids like Gabe, Wang and Weems?...does UFC honestly think that the TUF 5 footage has made these guys marketable as professional MMA fighters...which is supposedly the point of the show?)

Gabe's a tool but don't throw him in this mix. He's a WEC champ and had the best pedigree of all of the fighters in there. While you're at it, where did they find Corey Hill? He won, yes, but he lied at every step until it came out that he never had one official fight.

He won, yes, but he lied at every step until it came out that he never had one official fight. Joe Lauzon had the best pedigree on paper. Over the last year he won the World Fighting League Grand Prix against tougher competition than Gabe faced during his WEC run...and then a few months later he KO'd Jens Pulver in under a minute. He was the only guy on the TUF 5 roster who was guaranteed another shot in UFC before the show even began airing. While GR seemed like a hot prospect in 2005 he has shown no follow through whatsoever. He fought three times in the last year and half and went 1-2. Franca knocked him out in under a minute. Melvin knocked him out with a 'body punch' on Spike. When he couldn't motivate himself to make weight for the biggest opportunity of his career...there's something wrong. LWPD (I don't have a problem with Corey Hill lying to make the show...that's on the producers for not properly vetting out the guys looking to earn the six figure contract...if CH is able to use the television time to build an MMA career and make a better way for himself and his family then more power to him)

I like that one better. It's funny when a bite comes out of it after it hits Gabe in the stomach.

Manny Gamburyian vs. Joe Lauzon Gray Maynard vs. Nate Diaz LWPD (the Finals are on Saturday 6/23) Thanks for the heads up. I would've sworn it was the same show repeated twice like they usually do and miss it. BTW - I don't think those match ups are confirmed. There were clips of Dana wanting Manny vs Nate and Joe vs Gray. I actually have picked every single fight so far with the exception of Manny over Wiman last week. With LWPD's matchups I predict a Gray vs Lauzon final. With Dana's I predict a Nate vs Gray final. Although I think Lauzon is the best I've had a feeling about Gray since day one.

Manny is a frigging monster- always forward- all the time. man. He and nate will be a good fight- manny seemed resilient against the submission attempts of the other guys, but Nate is on another level.
By the way he used a nice de ashi harai- advancing foot sweep- to take Joe down one time.
Karo was an idiot last night. He got ticked off over nothing, and then when everyone was not deferential to him he snapped. "Don't you know who I am, bro?" - apparently Karo does not know either. He is not a Randy Couture or Matt Hughes- someone who just commands respect. Karo demanded it and ended up lookng fooling.

I think he will eventually be better than his brother. Karo did look like a tool and I have to think there was more to it than there was. It just seems like he goes nuts for no reason. Dana had to cream himself when watching the footage knowing that win, lose, or draw in the TUF finals he has a money blood match to follow with Karo vs Nate one day. On a side note, I know that all these reality show contestants sign a non-disclosure clause so that the results don't get out ahead of time. I think Manny or someone close to him violated this agreement because all I heard a couple weeks ago was that people "knew" Manny was going to make the finals. If Nate beats Manny I'd love to see Manny drop down to featherweight and face Faber. That could be a fun matchup.

what I read about Manny making it was a guy who saw a "very happy and upbeat Manny" at the Fight Night Live the other day. He inferred that manny was in a good position for the finals.
Ya know, Karo is my favorite fighter, but he acts somewhat immature at times. From the incident the other night to his interviews where he swears he smashes everyone he faces. I really do like the guy, and can maybe see someone mount a very uphill battle about how Karo beat Diego, but when I almost laughed out loud when Karo said he almost beat St Pierre. Either I am watching a different fight than the one he is in or ... I dunno.
I do sorta think the immaturity comes from both his culture and pedigree. Karo has been a highly successful fighter and athlete for years, beating several "better" ranked opponents. He started fighting MMA at 14 and has rarely lost. I work with high schoolers: I know what that sort of a thing could do to a young guy: make him very brash and cocky. The other aspect of that is the Armenian culture, placeing a strong emphasis on men being men/ machismo if you will. Since he moved to America, he has lived in an Armenian area in California, and grew up with those same ideals. .
Another thing I think Karo may have also realized is that, much like Rampage did with Pride, he needs to start promoting himself. He made one comment that if he was eligible to be on a Season of TUF as a contestant, he would have been very well known. I do agree with that statement- his style and ability would have taken him far in a TUF tournament where people would know who he is. Since he lacked that opportunity, and the UFC does not really promote anyone not Randy Courure or their champions, Karo may have decided that he needs the public to know who he is, love him or hate him. Sort of like Tito Ortiz.
Or maybe he is really a jerk.
