Some good names in there. Should be an interesting dynamic with Lauzon potentially being coached by the man he beat last year Jens Pulver. Melendez, Nate Diaz. Ruediger... should be interesting!

Even knowing the editing plays a role in how he's being portrayed...Gabe Ruediger is hard to like. He has a pro record of 10-3....but the only fight that stands out in my mind was when Melvin KO'd him with one single body shot.
Pulver has a personality type that comes off strong on TV. I think BJ is starting to lose his patience. The animosity between the two is real...they'll both come out of the series liked and elevated in the eyes of the audience.
LWPD (the renewed focus on fighter personality instead of training will attract more viewers....but some of these kids make the sport look bad)

Gabe is one of the only guys on there I've seen fight. In addition to the fight mentioned I've also seen him fight Herpes Franca and seen him a couple of times in WEC (when it was on HDNet regularly). For this reason I wanted to root for him but he is making it hard to do so. Right now I root for anyone else except the retard who keeps barking and the douch who wouldn't go near the horse to help it because he didn't want it to kick him.

That Team Penn guy really messed up and fought his opponent's fight last night. Stunad.
Team Penn is in real dire straights and I am sure morale is low. Karma coming back for BJ as he made such a big stink about "Who wants to train with me?" on the first ep. Team Pulver has way more cohesiveness.

It could continue with Gabe vs Corey next week. Gabe has come off as a complete douche but so has Corey. Gabe could easily lose the fifth in a row for BJ's team with his weight issues but I'll be rooting for him since he's one of only 2 fighters I knew before the show.
However, I think since Gabe is the most well know fighter other than Joe Lauzen I think he'll advance. He is by far the most accomplished one on either team, being a former WEC champ and 2 of his three losses coming to two big names in Hermes Franca and Melvin Guillard. I think they are focusing a lot on him because they already know the results and that he will be a big part of the show.
Heck, Corey has talked so much smack but Corey doesn't even have a fighter record on Sherdog while Gabe was champion in the second largest organization in the US.

I'm really curious to see Corey Hill in action. A guy who's naturally 6'4 and 155 with a strong wrestling background! If he develops good stand up he has the makings of becoming a real force in the division.

Corey Hill Interview
MMAbuzz.com had the opportunity to sit down with The Ultimate Fighter 5®'s Corey Hill. Most people don't know who Corey is but will once the show begins (Thursday, April 5th, Spike TV, 8PM MST). You can read more about the show and see a few videos of the show at http:theultimatefighter.tv .
If you are in the Colorado Springs area please join Corey and MMAbuzz.com at Buffalo Wild Wings (corner of Woodmen and Academy) for the premiere of the show. MMAbuzz.com: First off, the question everyone on the internet is asking, 6’4” 155lbs, what is up with that?
Corey: Ha Ha Ha…crazy genetics, crazy genetics. I don’t know, I was always the tall skinny freak of nature type of guy in high school when I was wrestling. I was always tall and always at a small weight. It wasn’t that abnormal when I was in high school. But, once I got to college I guess I grew a little bit. (People would say) “The guy wrestling at 157..he’s HUGE!” But, I have no explanation for that.
MMAbuzz.com: What do you say to the critiques who say, at that height and that weight he can’t have any strength?
Corey: Ummm, to all those people out there do some research and watch some of my college wrestling matches I think It’ll show that I was one of the stronger guys when I was coming through. I got to use all that leverage when people came to my world. It’s one of things you have to experience for yourself to get the true understanding of the leverage.
MMAbuzz.com: What is your training background and what got you into MMA?
Corey: I actually had a buddy in Florida, one of my buddies, he actually graduated after I did, but we were on the same wrestling team and he started fighting. You know he had a couple of fights in downtown Tampa, it was the talk around town ‘hey Reggies fighting’ and I kinda hooked up with him in practice one day and was like ‘how long do you think it will take me to get into this sport?’ He said ‘You’re ready now!’ I was like ‘woo’. He said ‘you still gotta workout, not just wrestling.’ I was initially wrestling and weighing 170. I kinda quit everything and decided to become a fighter.
MMAbuzz.com: Who are your role models?
Corey: My role models in my life are my parents. My coaches, my high school wrestling coach, principals, normal people who gave me words of advice as I traveled through life. But, my parents they are a big part of everything I do as far as giving it all I had. The one thing they said is the only way to lose is to quit. As long as you are out there fighting you still have a chance. My parents are definitely my role models.
MMAbuzz.com: Who is Corey Hill outside of the octagon? Hobbies, family, etc?
Corey: If you didn’t know I was a fighter you would be like ‘who is this big tall guy hanging out with his kids at the park?’ That’s really my world. My daughter just started kindergarten, so we’re involved in assemblies, plays, and after school activities. That’s my world. I’m hanging around people with kids. Normal people, and kids are a job in itself.
MMAbuzz.com: Is it true that you didn’t even know who Dana White before you got to the TUF5 tryouts?
Corey: Yeah, I didn’t know who Dana White was.
MMAbuzz.com: So, I assume you’ve never even seen the Ultimate Fighter’s previous seasons?
Corey: Well, I’ve heard of the Chuck Liddells, and Tito Ortiz’…the bigs name…I never really followed it, I never really watched it. I’ve never watched any of the episodes. We used to get together with my wrestling buddies and watch the pay-per-views, but other than that I was never really into it.
MMAbuzz.com: So, what made you make the trip to Florida to tryout?
Corey: Well, it was actually kinda crazy because I just moved out here from Florida. I quit my job, it was kind of ironic. I quit my job in Florida, I told my boss hey I need to go chase this dream. It was just crazy how it happened. It was like I want to fight in the UFC type of deal. And they were like ‘whatever.’ I moved out here and the trials in Florida was a little weird. The place I left to go look for fighting, and was right back to where I started. So the whole thing is a little weird. But, I’m looking forward to the future.
MMAbuzz.com: What is one thing you took away from The Ultimate Fighter?
Corey: That this is serious, and it’s not for your average person, not for the average Joe. It’s not a toughman competition off the street. People train years in their perspective training, they are doing it in and out everyday. If they lose they are trying to figure out how to get more leverage on their side. So I definitely took it seriously. Before I was just one of the guys who would sit on the couch (like everyone else) and see fights and be like ‘I can do that, I should be the one on there, I could really win’. It looks way easier than it really is. I definitely took it seriously. It’s just something you can sit around and think you are going to go in there and win. You better be out there training, working you butt off, and focusing because the other guy is.
MMAbuzz.com: Anything you want to say to the fans? I know you have a lot of fans in Florida and Colorado.
Corey: I just want to tell all the fans were on our way. People are going to look at this 6’4” guy and say why he can’t win. But, keep hope alive. I just want people to know that I’m out there working, training, and we’ll get there. People will see that I’m not some freak of nature.
MMAbuzz.com: Any sponsors you want to mention? Or how can people sponsor you?
Corey: Definitely all the sponsors out here, Round 1 , MMAbuzz.com, Price of Battle , Westside Tattoo . Definitely all those guys. Thanks for the sponsorship. Without you guys I not know what to do. Look for me on the webpage (coreyhillmma.com ). As far as getting sponsors, you can see on the webpage, we can get you banner ads.
MMAbuzz.com: Well Corey thanks for your time. We’ll be logging onto to CoreyHillmma.com and getting in touch with you.
Corey: Right on, that’s awesome.
Please note: Corey has a personal blog on coreyhillmma.com that will feature his own commentary of each episode of The Ultimate Fighter 5® after it airs.

What's with all the constant crying on this year's show? These guys like Wang, Weems and Gabe aren't being made to look like more marketable 'fighters' that I'd want to pay to watch with their emotional breakdowns. I'm hoping some of the talent in the background will step up and save the rest of the season.

I felt like a tool because I was mocking him i think for a week or so and didn't realize when a mod explained to me i couldn't knock the writers there... and i was like "eh? The hell are you talking about?" I don't know how else to put it... but he looked embersing on tv. That's about the size of it. Great,,, we got the guy who's famous for coming on tv.. and getting an enma. Good times.

Good way to committ career suicide Gabe. You were arguably the most accomplished person there and your personality would've made people want to watch you fight even if you had lost.
Maybe you and Travis Lutter can hang out and eat some Twinkies.
