Had to share this story.
Middle of 2119, GWF title match between the champ Encubus and Bloodline, no interference. For a while I've been considering switching to Bloodline's updated card for the match, and eventually I decided to hold off until the next card, after the reformation of the FDF.
So the match begins, and it's pretty even going, but then Encubus hits level three offence and starts nailing finisher after finisher. Bloodline keeps kicking out, but in no time he has five or six tokens and it looks to be all over bar the shouting.
Then Encubus misses a step, and Bloodline takes over. First thing he does is go for the Cosmic Big Bang. And promptly rolls a six.
Now, on his existing card, that's a miss, and Encubus quickly finishes him off. But if I'd switched to the update, it would have been a +6 finisher and I'd probably be looking at a new GWF champion.
So, what's the closest call you've ever had in your fed? What matches have you had where one slight change could have made a huge difference in the end?

I played the game for about four years, (1996-2000). Chaos held the belt for the ENTIRE time I played, however, there was one game that had me reeling.
It was Chaos/Spike in 2096. Both men had 11 pin tokens and it looked like whoever got the next pinfall would be taking the title. (Side note: I have a house rule that if you a roll a 12, it's an automatic kickout) Spike rolls his finisher and then Chaos rolls a twelve! So, I'm thinking surely it will be over soon, but Chaos rebounds, winning the match and retaining the title.

It wasn't for a title, but in my pre-Relaunch history, I had Rouser come within 1 point from pinning Disaster in a surprisingly close match. All told, there were 13 TOKENS accumulated by the end. While most of them were on Rouser, his refusal to give up in overwhelming odds made an impact. Since the match took place in the beginning of 2114 when he joined the Ramparts of Centra, I used the match to help make the transition from heel to face for Rouser. When the match started, the fans were out to see Rouser get slaughtered in his first match in the Mens Division. But by the end of the match, this former cowardly, annoying heel came out as a resiliant, never say die fan favorite.
Weird, huh...
