Considering the "Storm the Ring and Brawl" and not exactly following ANY storyline, but finding out what characters I like the most and booking my own thing from there.
Any ideas are welcome here, would anyone be curious to read something along those lines?

I play Legends. I played COTG off and on for a while, but I don't have the COTG cards anymore. I'm itching to get back in and put Legends on the backburner for a while.

Well, if you can afford it, the Strom the Ring and Brawl is the best way to go! And you might lose out a little on some things by picking and choosing which characters to use, and coming up with your own storylines .... but .... if you're good I'm sure you'll come up with tons of sweet ideas on your own. Good luck finding characters you don't like though.

I lost my entire collection in a military move a few years back. I was emotionally distraught and it wasn't until about 18 months ago that I did the same thing: purchased Storm the Ring and Brawl.
Here's my advice: STRAB only comes with the basics. You're going to have to purchase Endgame and Euritar (two must have characters) separately. And after you read through the booklets you may want to pick up some other SEs as well. So expect to buy STRAB and possibly be putting in another order a few weeks later.
Maybe pick a "theme" for a fed...like ONLY NORMAL WRESTLERS AND NO GIMMICKS or ALL ALIENS if you're going to go with a mix n match.

Huh, I did not know that STRAB didn't have any SE cards.
I am way behind in game editions (2117 is the last one I bought). Does Tom still run deals like "buy any 3 editions and save $12" or any of those incentives he used to run back in the day?
Would help get me caught up.

He does offer the groups of sets(War Games, Sudden Death, Revolution, etc,) at a discount. Could be a better option if the Storm the ring is too much to invest at one time. That way you can pace yourself through the sets.

In the past I have used the prices (which say mix and match any game) for buying multiple games that comes with the order form in the mail along with your previous order. For instance, you can get 3 sets for $32 instead of each set separately for $12 each. But they would not, for example, have to be the 3 War Games (2091-2093) sets at the same time as I once received the same 3 set discount when I bought something like 2 of the War Games (2092 and 2093) sets and 1 of the Sudden Death (2094) sets.

I've made a decision as to what I'm going to do. It's kind of along the lines of what PH said, but not exactly. I hope you guys enjoy the fed that's coming up. I'm going to put some work into it to try and make it a bit different from anything out there.

I look forward to reading it -- if I had the time I'd be putting my results up here. Hope you enjoy the GWF as much as I do.

I believe that this used to be the discount policy, but that has changed with the online store, where the discount applies to the groups of editions. Storm the Ring and Brawl is by far the better option value wise. You may want to also pick up the Ringside companions for the new matches released over the years.

I agree that, if you can afford it, Storm the Ring and Brawl is without question the better option. And I see where on the online store they offer the smaller discounts but only by groups of editions such as War Games or The End. But I have always made my orders over the phone by which I have often purchased multiple editions at one time and, without asking, I have received that same discount without necessarily ordering only for sets from the same group.
