Yes, the Duce is back in the forums. I see alot of veteran MMA guys out there now with serious winning streaks that are currently lasting 3 yearish. I am pleased to see the UFC is being affronted by other major MMA brands. My ship bought a UFC PPV during an inport period. A good chunk of the crew was wholely entertained by all UFC 59 fights. I had a great chuckle at seeing Andrei finally fall. HA! Arlovski was a bland champ!
Jason “Mayhem” Miller (14-4-0) vs. Lodune Sincaid (9-2-0) Ehh... Sincaid..hate to tell him this but if this was a reality show with Mayhem on it... Sincaid wouldn't be cracking to many jokes. He'd be overwhelmed. Mayhem is out of control... Duce gives it to Mayhem TKO late in the first round
Rob McCullough vs. Harris Sarmiento(18-14-0) REMATCH! Rob is a vicious striker. Sarm is a seasoned veteran. With all kinds of experience. From Jay R Palmer's crazy strikes to Gilberts Melendez. Good match up but Sarm is on a bad stink lately. He could be over and done. Duce picks ROB KO in second round.
Jorge Oliveira (2-1-0) vs. Marvin Eastman (13-6-0) The beastman needs this win badly. Jo-olive big stage experience limited. I want Marvin to win this too. He is to much of a victim of highlight reels for the UFC. He has another motivation on the card. Rampage. I know Eastman wants to beat him again and get his crediability back. Duce goes for Beastman by decision
Ivan Salaverry(11-4-0) vs Art Santore(14-4-0) Good match. *I don't know.
Ryoto Machida(7-0-0) vs Vernon "Tiger" White(24-27-2) YAY Lyoto is storming the states! Finally! The tiger is done. *Duce told you so! Machida has arrived!
Ricco Rodriguez(22-6-0) vs Ron Waterman(13-3-2) H20 and Ricco part 2. Ron is turning 40 and the last time he fought was H20 vs Ricco part one. Ron won that. Ricco should do better this time around. I don't think this is going to be very exciting though. *Duce gives it to Ricco by decision.
Bas Rutten(27-4-1) vs Kimo Leopoldo(9-5-1) Bas hasn't fought in seven years and is 41 years old. Kimo is very active and is 38. Unfortunately I don't see this going very long and I do see a knock out via a well placed liver punch! *Duce gives it to; Bas KO 1st round
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson(24-6-0) vs Matt Lindland(18-3-0) This should be great! I wonder how Rampage will do back in the good old US? Will he get a huge culture shock from the law? *Duce gives it to; I dunno... maybe the Law figures better on paper.

This card looks really great. I hope that they do well for themselves.
I am going to pull for Rampage, but I would not be surprised to see the Law win. Rampage's last few fights have not been the most impressive.
And Bas should win. The man is awesome. Kimo is tough, but for some reason he never did very well. this fight will continue that streak.
Those are the only two fights where I know both fighters.

You havn't seen that war between Jason Miller and George St Pierre on UFC 52? That will give you an idea of the dire situation Sincaid is in....
Ricco is a former UFC heavyweight champ and is all over the place as far as DVD/VHS is concerned. He put on alot of weight a year or so ago. He was the guy who ended Randy's Heavyweight reign. Ron Waterman is also all over the place.
I really hope this is a stepping stone for Ryoto Machida. This guy is has had alot of money put into him and could be the next thing. I'll bump an old thread I made.

I was a little drunk during the Mayhem Miller/ St. Pierre drubbing, so I do not remember much other than Mayhem taking abeating and smiling.

LoL he can certainly take more of a beating then Sincaid has in the past. Any other predictions? Kimo and Bas are both ridden with Shamrock failures. I think these two made Ken what he is today. Bas practically never lost... and Kenny's got two up on him.

Crap!!!!
Thanks to Sherdog for the article!
WFA Update: Kimo Out of Rutten Fight … So is Sims Options: Email Article | Printer Friendly July 21, 2006 by Josh Gross (joshg@sherdog.com)
After agreeing to take Kimo Leopoldo (Pictures)’s slot against Bas Rutten (Pictures), Wes Sims (Pictures) has instead decided to honor his July 28 WEC commitment, Mark Coleman (Pictures) told Sherdog.com late Thursday, leaving the World Fighting Alliance again scrambling to find a suitable replacement for Saturday.
The WFA issued a statement Thursday evening regarding Leopoldo’s removal from the pay-per-view contest against Rutten.
In the three-paragraph release, WFA CEO Jeremy Lappen indicated that the California State Athletic Commission informed the WFA that Leopoldo "tested positive for a banned substance and therefore is not eligible" to compete July 22 at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
Two days from his first professional fight since 1999, Rutten was relaxing at home when he got the call that Leopoldo had been forced off Saturday’s card after allegedly testing positive for Stanozolol, a banned synthetic anabolic steroid derived from testosterone.
As of Thursday evening, California State Athletic Commission Chief Armando Garcia could not comment on the allegations. This is not the first time Leopoldo, famous for his clash with Royce Gracie (Pictures) at UFC III, has failed a urinalysis.
Following a June 2004 UFC contest in which Leopoldo was knocked out by Ken Shamrock (Pictures), the Hawaiian was suspended six months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and fined $5,000 for having Stanozolol, more commonly known as Winstrol — a popular steroid among bodybuilders for its weight-cutting benefits — as well as other drugs in his system.
“Every guy who uses steroids to fight is a fucking pussy,” said an exasperated Rutten. “For him to do this shit after all the promotion he did, all the shit he talked about me — taking me out in minutes and all that bullshit — apparently that was the steroids talking, right?”
“It’s another thing for me,” he laughed. “Another challenge.”
"The WFA is a fighter-first organization, so Kimo’s disqualification is a disappointment for our entire family of fighters," Lappen said in the E-mailed statement. "But the positive test is a reminder that the WFA and mixed martial arts is a professional sport, governed by the same rules as other major sports leagues.
"This situation, while disappointing, validates the steps we are taking as an organization and a sport to ensure the integrity of competition. We are currently working to secure another qualified opponent for Bas so he can make his historic return to competitive mixed martial arts on Saturday night. An announcement on the bout will be forthcoming.”
Pele Out, Kampmann In
In a totally unrelated set of circumstances, the WFA on Wednesday learned that Jose Landi-Jons (Pictures) would not be able to compete against Edwin Aguilar (Pictures). Though the reason for Pele’s absence remains unclear, Danish striker Martin Kampmann has been signed to fill the hole left by the veteran Brazilian.

I suspect there's a lot more to this story than meets the eye...just too many last minute 'unfortunate occurrences' and mysterious 'I won't take a pay day' no shows.
LWPD (hopefully the WFA will find a way to salvage this show...at least Lindland/Rampage is still unscathed)

Bas vs. Kimo would have sucked anyways. Everyone just wants to see Bas fight again.
Friday, July 21, 2006 by Josh Gross (joshg@sherdog.com)
Bas Rutten (Pictures)'s chances of fighting competitively for the first time since 1999 hang on the hopes that Ruben Villareal (Pictures) will have a clean bill of health.
The World Fighting Alliance and Villareal have agreed to terms that would have the journeyman heavyweight fight on less than two day's notice, Sherdog.com has learned, pending the 36-year-old's medical clearance by the California State Athletic Commission.
Villareal, better known as "Warpath," a pro-wrestling persona that has carried over to his mixed martial arts contests, underwent a battery of tests Friday. It likely won't be until Saturday that the WFA, Rutten and Villareal will know if the fight is on, as the lab handling the tests will be hard pressed to process them today, CSAC Chief Armando Garcia said via E-mail.
"I just want to fight, and I hope he's going to clear," Rutten said early Friday afternoon.
Because this is a heavyweight contest, the 42-year-old Dutch striker will have the option to step on the scale at tonight's weigh-in, which starts 5:30 p.m. in the Catalina room of the Radisson Hotel near the Los Angeles International Airport.
When Kimo Leopoldo (Pictures), Rutten's original opponent for WFA's July 22 pay-per-view at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., provided a urinalysis to the CSAC that came up positive for Stanozolol, a banned synthetic anabolic steroid derived from testosterone, the WFA was left scrambling to find a replacement.
By Thursday evening, just hours after the news broke, it appeared like Wes Sims (Pictures), 26, had agreed to fill in for Leopoldo. However, the heavyweight from Ohio had a change of heart and opted to fulfill his commitment of fighting on next week's WEC benefit card for the late Ryan Bennett.
"I realize that was for the fund raising for Ryan Bennett's family," Rutten said, "And that's a little bit more important. So it's good that [Sims] did that. I'm happy for that."

The offical line up and card
Antonio McKee vs. Adam Arredondo Mckee versus a bum. This fight was scrapped. Evidently, McKee weighed in heavy and Arredondo light, so Arredondo refused the fight.
Martin Kampmann vs. Edwin Aguilar Possible show stealer.
Jorge Oliveira vs. Marvin Eastman
Rob McCullough vs. Harris Sarmiento
Ricco Rodriguez vs. Ron Waterman
Ivan Salaverry vs. Art Santore
Jason Miller vs. Lodune Sincaid
Ryoto Machida vs. Vernon White
Bas Rutten vs. Ruben Villareal (10-7-3) This matchup could prove more interesting then the Kimo vs. Bas match. Ruben could upset easier then Kimo and certainly he is more hungery for such a huge win this would be. I see Bas submitting him.
Quinton Jackson vs. Matt Lindland

From MMANEWS.com Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Matt Lindland
Round 1: Lindland makes his way to the cage to the sounds of the song "I fought the law and the law won!" How appropriate. Rampage is making his way to the cage now to a different song than his custom "Rampage" entrance music used in PRIDE. He's getting a great ovation as he comes out howling and barking. He should have come out to the song "Breaking the law, breaking the law!" Oh well. Wait, this is Rampage's same music from PRIDE. Not that any of that matters, but anyways both guys care in the cage now and we're about to begin this main event.
Rampage immediately went at Lindland and the two clinched, Rampage pushed Lindland up against the cage and slammed him down. Lindland worked his way back up and got a big takedown of his own. Lindland gets Rampage's back and is working for a rear naked choke. Rampage is scrawling out. Lindland secures a choke and it looked like the end of the fight but Rampage refused to tap, stood up with Lindland still having the choke applied and eventually shook Lindland off and finished the round on top. Probably a 10-9 round for Lindland.
Round 2: The round opens again with the two clinching. There hasn't been much of any striking with distance between the two. The two seperate, but Lindland immediately clinches again and forces Rampage's back up against the cage. Rampage reverses it around, and now Lindland's back is against the cage with the two in the clinch. In the clinch Lindland secures a guillotine but Rampage immediately picks him up and slams him down with force. He's now in side control. Rampage working knees to the body. Lindland scrambles up and is in the clinch with Rampage's back against the cage. Rampage gets some distance and hurts Lindland with some really good punches followed by another statement making takedown. Lindland immediately starts working for a kimura submission hold on Rampage's right arm. Lindland again scrambles back to his feet and pushes Rampage up against the fence while working for a single leg takedown. Now we're back in the clinch with Lindland's back against the cage. Rampage lands a good uppercut. Lindland switches things around and Rampage's back is against the cage now. The bell sounds to finish the round. Close round, I'll go with Rampage 10-9. The fight is up in the air now in the third and final round on our unofficial scorecard.
Round 3: Lindland forces the clinch and pushes Rampage up against the cage and begins working some foot stomps. Not a whole lot happening here, fatigue probably setting in. The two get some distance and Rampage lands a big right. If he could avoid the in-close fighting, this fight would be totally different based on the few times Rampage has had the distance to work his striking. Rampage shoots in, Lindland sinks a guillotine. Lindland pulls guard to finish the submission, Rampage looks to be in trouble again. I didn't notice but Rampage had an arm in, but still he was stuck in that submission for a while. He's out now and on top of Lindland trying to work some ground and pound. A minute left in the round and this round (and the fight) is still up in the air, although leaning towards Lindland right now. Rampage isn't really busy here when he needs to be, nevertheless he's punching and Lindland is starting to get bloodied up. Rampage smells the blood as he turns the offense on more. Rampage stands up on his own and as Lindland gets up the round ends. Tough one to call, I'd lean towards Lindland.
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson def. Matt Lindland via Split Decision (29-28 Lindland, 29-28 Rampage, 29-28 Rampage) after 3 Rounds.
