My buddy ordered New Beginnings and we cracked it open for the first time today. From someone who plays the 2087-2089 so far I feel that it seems a little lackluster at first sight as there are a lot more characters and more going on which gives a promoter a tougher time putting great thought into his/her feuds. Dont get me wrong. I did like alot of the specials people had, multiple finishers and the number of add 1 moves. But all in all I feel that 2087 maybe better game year to play. That could just be me. What your guys input.

Nothing will ever beat 2087 and 2088, but the feeling I got when I jumped ahead to 2119 was pretty cool, too. Not sure what you mean about there being "a lot more characters"; there are more in 2089 than 2119.

Actually, I felt like New Beginnings was pretty straight forward, each group had a corresponding feud, and it made for a great starting point for the new direction of the GWF and COTG.
Also, I have don't know why you wouldn't be able to put thought into your feuds. I'm playing NB right now and I always have tons of stuff to do.
2087 was amazing, especially since I was one of the original buyers so I kimd of grew u0 as a fan along with the game, but New Beginnings did an amazing job as a launching poiint.

I don't know which is cooler. Swarm's attitude (Strong!) or NB as a starting point.

Maybe its just that I am an old school lover and 2087 seems old school to me

I see your point. The original set is hard to top. It's what started this whole thing out. And there were great characters like Thantos, Star Warrior, Commander Sam, Krakan, Comrade Terror, Greek Gods, The Gladiators, and of course, Wolf.
It's just a little different now. The 2087 game mirrored what wrestling was back then - outlandish villains and great heroes. The 2119 mirrors what wrestling is like today, not many real true faces or heels. There are a few but there are a lot of characters that are "shades of grey."

That is probably It. I love characters that are well built up and HEEL VS. FACE is good.
