*looks around... sees if LWPD is looking...*
Overeem is awesome!
*runs behind building*
Haha but seriously this guy gave Rua a great match in the Grand Prix, has made tremendous improvement since fighting Chuck (where he didn't look THAT bad), and now crushes Kharitonov!
Hopefully we'll see him in the open-weight Grand Prix and he causes some damage.
If I had to pick 16:
Mark Coleman Wanderlei Silva Fedor Emelianenko Minotauro Nogueira Fabricio Werdum Alistair Overeem Ricardo Arona Dan Henderson Mirko CroCop Josh Barnett Kazushi Sakuraba (I hope he doesn't get killed :/) Mark Hunt Tsuyoshi Kohsaka (I love the guy, plus there would have to be a certain number of Japanese fighters. Why not?) Quinton Jackson Minotoro Noguiera Zuluzinho Zuluzinho (he's bouncy and fun!)

I'd replace Fedor with Aleks, especially after Fedor's surgery on his hand.

I have to say that is one sick talent roster.
Alistair Overeem has shown some deadly stand up and has improved on the ground. A win against Little Nog would have really made him! Yet he bounced back and I honestly never expected him to submit Vitor. I don't know if he'll ever crack the upper tier...but he's always fun to watch.
Like Watching Paint Dry (the 'Demolition Man' is 22-6...and in the last 2 years has only lost to Little Nog & Shogun...that's about as top notch as it gets)

Kinda funny hearing about a 60 (60...!) man tournament. I'm going to make 4 picks. Nog (big), Hunt, Mark Coleman and I'll reserve one when i get the whole list (probrably change my pics when i see the whole list lets be honest.. 60 fighters! That's got me excited).

Oh, and Quinton said he would not participate in the GP.
Perhaps replace him with Randleman? He is always good for a dark horse.

Oh, and Quinton said he would not participate in the GP. Perhaps replace him with Randleman? He is always good for a dark horse. Actaully I think he's making a good tactical business move. I think he's expecting (much like myself) that the open weight experment will end in disaster. And simply he's side stepping it. It's already started and now Shogun's injured. Page is looking pretty smart right now. I have a bad feeling we won't see him in the ufc.. I honestly beleive (after seeing his interview) he has no interest in fighting Chuck. He mentioned how much Chuck was making at Pride post fight and said there's alot of American fans waiting for him. I think he's pulling a Bas Rutten hopping and praying that Pride will buckle and go "Fine here's a few extra bucks.. please don't go." That's all this really boils down to. Now here's the good news. I really don't think they going to pay it. Rampage while he has an impressive record, if he goes else where.. one isn't needed a huge draw (watching a rampage match is like ice cream after dinner.. it's nice.. but not necessary), two he's been dismissed by enough top guys so if he does fight Chuck and loses... it won't exactly emberse Pride. In fact not paying him more money and letting him go out only gives Pride a chance to have a B level fighter (you heard me) a second chance of embersing the ufc's new golden boy. Pride's really growing nicely right now.. and as much as most people on the net would miss Rampage.. I really don't think his abscence will stur up much fuss or muss. That and he didn't go out in domination fation against a so called gimmie fighter. Granted... the last person he fought showed up prepared and all.... but it really wasn't the kind of ending you want to make when your asking for more money.

Dont get me wrong, I've always been an Alistair fan (just always bummed he usually gassed) but do you think his dominance over Sergei (sp?) was due to his shoulder injury? I only got to see the fight once but Sergei couldnt even move his shoulder after the fight. Did anyone see if he had hurt it during the takedown or after? I thought Alistair looked awesome at heavyweight but was curious about the nature of Sergei's injury (and ass whoopin).
