Poor decisions

I noticed some fighters seem to make poor choices with there fight carreers. The main fighter that comes to mind is Sakuraba. I noticed he fought Minowa and did very well so I was curious to see if he'd drop down in weight.. but i thought i heard a rumor he's remaining at the higher weight classes or even taking part in the open weight tournament.
This strikes me as foolish and un necessary.
I hadn't dawned on me till recently.. but I know Randy has hung up his gloves... so what about Matt L.L. He's actaully older than Randy and he's over looked by the two major orgs. Is there really a future in mma for the law?
Shogun's climb to heavy weight. I really think Shogun needs to step away from Chute box and start thinking about what's best for him.. and not what's best for his camp. Most pride fans will be quick to piont out the depth of ability difference between orgs in the ufc in pride is miles apart... then what could Shogun ever hope to accomplish shooting for a weight class into a fully stacked heavy weight division. If Shogun's lucky he'll go down in flames as soon as possible against Coleman and relize that the jump was a misguided move. I don't see why he should have to move up to face the perils of fighters the likes of Nog, Fedor, or even Cro Cop where he will be horribly out matched if not against Colemon but some where down the line. I feel their's just to much of a weight difference waiting for him ahead.
And I feel Pride in and of itself has made a wealth of mistakes recently. While the next ppv is perfectly acceptable... it could have been easily better. I don't feel it sucks.. or is even poor... It's just really lacking something to get truely excited about. Pride is 1 making a lack luster ppv... 2 Letting Rampage slip away (I'm happy about this and all but still) 3 where is the exposure for Dan H. and Gomi?
I relize it's been a ppv apart and I beleive (Duce.. this is more your field) but there should be some sort of title defense at a ppv. Maybe that's just a ufc tradition to at least have one... but Dan, Fedor, Wanderlei, and Gomi are all missing from the card. That kind of feels like a rip off. Now do the lighter fighters only fight on Bushido? That feels like letting perfectly good talent go to waste.
I'm not saying the sky is falling.. i'm not going to proclaim this is the beginning of the end for Pride, I just feel like Pride isn't putting their best foot forward here and it's a new year, it's good to start out well. Fighters have a way of making shows specail when given the chance, but good match making goes a long way.
