I thought it was a great card.... well I mean the main event could have been better, but it was a fun show. My jaw hit the floor when Leben won. I wanted him to win and picked him to win.. i just didn't beleive he would.

Fight #8 Main Event Tim Sylvia vs Assuerio Silva Winner: Tim Sylvia
Fighters sizing each other up in the center of the ring. Silva charges and puts Tim against the cage. Tim reverses control. Silva pulls guard against the fence, with Tim calmly keeping standing position. Big John restarts. Silva shoots for a double, Tim defends nicely and pushes Assuerio against the cage, with a single underhook. Silva working knees to the body. Silva now has Tim against fence, kneeing Tim's left thigh. Not much action. ref breaks again. Nice jab from Tim. Double jab from Tim then a straight right. Flying knee from Tim. Tim picking him apart with kicks and knees. front kick to Silva's abs. Nice leg kick from Sylvia. Tim closes out round one with a nice flying knee to the body.
My Score - 10-9 Sylvia.
Round two starts with Spinning back kick from Silva. Tim displaying a nice jab. Nice kick to the body from Tim. Sylvia throws a head kick, Silva slips. Big John restarts. Two big overhand rights land for Silva. Tim cut and bleeding heavily. Cut is over left eye to the side.Nice striking from Tim, using his reach and jabbing from the outside. Nice inside leg kick from Tim. Silva lunging in with big punches, but Sylvia staying just out of range. Nice straight left to the body of Tim, he answers with spinning back kick that misses.More crisp jabs from Tim and a right hand lead than glances.
My Score - 10-9 Sylvia (20-18) total
More of the same to start the third round, Tim striking from the outside and picking Assuerio apart. Nice right to the body from Silva. Assuerio landing nice body shots. Silva takes TIm's back from a standing postion, Tim holds cage to avoid suplex but receives no warning from Big John. Assuerio pulls guard against the cage again. Ref restart. Nice spinning back kick lands to the body of Sylvia. Silva looks gassed, Silva just covering up and defending leg kicks. Crowd boos. Assuerio checks a leg kick as the third round ends. Decision coming up. I thought Tim won this round but it was close enough to go either way.
My Score - 10-9 Sylvia (30-27) total
Official Judges Score - 30-27 30-27 29-28 Tim Sylvia

Good night for exciting finishes (except for the main event), but the drama wasn't there. Maybe it was me, but Rogan and Goldberg didn't seem very enthusiastic on commentary tonight. Hopefully they will have more life at Couture vs. Liddell 3. Crazy to think there will be 4 straight months of UFC PPV's. Couture vs. Liddell in February, Franklin vs. Louiseau & Penn vs. GSP in March, Tito vs. Forrest in April for UFC's debut in Anaheim, California, and now Hughes vs. Royce in May.
Leben, Burkman and Bonnar looked impressive in victory.
Good thing for that granite chin Leben has or else he would have been in trouble from that shot Rivera gave him. Koscheck must be kicking himself, becasue Burkman took out Fickett pretty easily. Another win or two for Burkman, and I think Diego vs. Burkman could be a reality.
Nice to see Bonnar use the submission game since he is a very proud student of Carlson Gracie. Very funny how he made the "Forrest" mistake during his post-fight interview.
After last night, I am liking "Bang" Ludwig more. Talk about living up to a nickname. His interview was funny with "I want to thank some sponsors. Just kidding Dana". Plus, he had BAS RUTTEN in his corner.
Sylvia did nothing to convince me that he won't go down to Arlovski in under a minute for the rematch. Assuerio was taken off his gameplan as it seemed he wanted to take Sylvia down first by jumping into the guard, but Sylvia was took big. It seemed a change in a strategy was working as he connected in stand up then went for the takedown, but Sylvia blantantly holding onto the fence prevented the takedown. Sylvia did a good job using his size advantage to neutralize Assuerio.
One more thing, Sylvia also needs to wear a belt as we almost got a full moon. I think that is why Big John called for the break everytime Assuerio tried to jump in the guard.

Yeah i remember during Hunt's match how he kept pulling up his pants while fighting Cro Cop thinking it's going to be sad if you get knocked out while pulling up your pants.
You hit everything right on the head Ryan. You know.. I was happier seeing Bas than Royce.

I "saw" the first three fights. I noticed that they were starting, turned my head, they were all over!
I wish they lasted a little longer.
