WOW! I wonder who he was brought in to fight? Ha I bet Duce never saw this comming (.. okay to be fair no one did). This is so damn sweet I can't stand it. I thought K1 was paying him to much for this ever to be possible.. what the hell happened. Details! Anyone!

I know that Penn stated in his K-1 deal that he could still fight in UFC, since K-1 runs so few MMA shows. Especially now that K-1 has gone into a mostly lightweight MMA route with their HERO's shows.
The UFC Welterweight Division is the most competitve division in UFC right now with Hughes, Penn (presuming he drops from heavyweight to welterweight) and GSP as top fighters. There are plenty of good up-and-coming fighters in that division like Diego as well.
I am glad that UFC and Penn were able work out differences after having a really nasty public fallout over 18 months ago. Hyping Penn as the man who dethroned Hughes after having Unleashed shows airing all his matches is a great way to build interest in a future match.

The right thing would be to give GSP his title shot. He's really earned another one. I understand this is possibly the best business decision but If GSP gets stopped here God can you imagine the guys grief? My heart tells me to pick GSP over Penn but the smart moneys on Penn. I'm picking GSP he's on a mad roll.

According to MMA Weekly, it seems the plan that BJ Penn wants to do is take a tune up fight, which might mean that Hughes/GSP happens before Penn gets a title shot, then challenge for the Welterweight Title. After that fight, regardless of result, Penn wants to move up to Middleweight. If these plans are true and Penn wins the UFC Welterweight title again, then it would be the second time that he loses the title without fighting in the Octagon.
