I think that a game edition comes out every six months. I wanted to know if you play six months (being a full game year), if you play a full real-time year or a set number of events. I am behind and don't know if I want to play a set number of events top catch up or if I want to play a set number of months to really build up a history. Any thoughts???

Although I only play Legends now, when I consistently played the GWF, I played it in "real time" as to when the games came out.
The 1st three editions came out once a year, so I played a year with those. After Invasion 2090 came out in later 89/early 90...it was every six months starting with War Games 2091 in summer 90.
So I basically ignored the "Year" behind the title and just played the game as they came out.
Just an example 2087, 88,89--Real time Invasion 2090-Winter of 90 War Games 2091-Summer of 90 War Games 2092-Winter of 91 War Games 2093-Summer of 91 Sudden Death 2094-Winter of 92 Sudden Death 2095-Summer of 92 Revolution 2096-Winter of 93 Revolution 2097-Summer of 93
etc. etc...

COTG sets are currently only released once a year at Galacticon.
I play 24 cards per COTG game year and then move onto the next year. That system has really worked well for my COTG fed because it has allowed me to move rapidly thorugh a number of years and still build up a well-rounded historty that I have kept well-documented in the plastic folder I designate for COTG.

I run ten big cards every game year, with the original idea being that I could do a card every couple of weeks and still keep up to date. That didn't work out, so at the moment I'm just running them whenever I can.

I always liked the games coming out every six months. A year between editions just leaves too much down time.

I always liked the games coming out every six months. A year between editions just leaves too much down time. I use to think like that but now I can do other feds like cPc, aCe, and bootlegs. It gives me a some time to balance out better... buy my bootlegs to fill your time! =) www.jproductions.us/sets

Gotta agree with GBB that the new release schedule bothered me when I first heard it, but leaves time to explore so many other feds, that I am glad Tom decided to do it.

Yeah, and the twice a year really causes a bit of overcrowding. There are so many updates you can give someone.
Once a year really solves that problem

I still miss the influx of talent but with enough sets out right now it does make certain thigns easier(but still can't seem to help me run a CPC fed right now)

I also prefer the current once a year release schedule for the GWF. I am able to fill my time adequately by concentrating on LOW full-time along with also now starting aCe and trying to catch up in the GWF from my current spot in 2103.

For me it was real time, but I fell behind a few years ago and have converted to a year of 52 scheduled cards.

I was doing something like 100 cards per year when I started in 2087. I just finished 2091 and it's just moving too slow for me so I cut it back to 58 cards a year but upped the matches per show by 2. I'm hoping that really gets me rolling with my classic fed.
