After going through several years in my WGX (Mostly bootlegs) where I would bring in a wrestler with a lot of fanfare only to see him fall on his face, I started a training league. My point was to only bring those into the league after they had 'proved' themselves. My WGX went three years with the training league about one year. The training league ended when I did a roster split.
Bloodsport who did an excellent bootleg set for WGX also featured a training league. As did the ICOF by Markus V.

CK: Well, Missy, we think we have developed a lot during our period here…at least I have…I am grateful to the opportunity that the V2W has given me to develop…get additional ring experience…and to hook up with Turbo so that we could from the NEW Energy Express!
Tu: I agree…the V2W has been run first class…but my thanks go out to the trainers…agents, and others within V2W that makes it what it is.
MH: Are you both expecting to receive offers for the WGX? Or have you already?
CK: We have not been contacted yet by WGX…we continue to do our best and hope that we will be noticed.
MH: You have been undefeated as a team since you entered V2W. How could you not be noticed?
Tu: Well, Missy, there are many factors that determine whether someone is selected for a WGX contract, as you know. We just hope to be one of them.
MH: Well, I know that I am noticing you (coyly)
CK: Thanks.
