i know im asking alot of questions but i just got to know.
the last 3 weeks ive really and i mean cant get enof of MMA.its coming over me like wrestling did me in 19 seventy something.and i read some where that Tom is into it also.and looking at some of these boards i was wondering if Tom is going to do an MMA style COTG game?i mean women are getting into it too fighting and all.it seems with COTG online it could be posible. any thoughts on this or is it not even an option?

I hadn't heard of Tom being all that into MMA, but I could be wrong. There is an MMA mechanic (separate from the COTG style) floating around out there created by Cosmic Crippler. I neglected to save it, but I do remember it being very promising. It would be really hard to retrofit COTG cards to suit an MMA style, though, so anything that is ever created in that regard would most likely have to have completely different movesets and charts. The OFC match rules I created only go so far and don't really do justice to the complexities of an MMA bout. But would I love to see it? Does Phil Baroni get on my every last nerve?

Phil Baroni... Evan Tanner showed him ! Remember how Baroni cried about not giving up as Tanner was bustin his face with elbows from the mount ( side Mount I think ) ...I hate Baroni, he is cocky and doesnt win very much.

That's why I said it's promising. It's got the elements down but maybe needs to be pared back somewhat to make it more COTG-esque. But I liked it.

I did a few variations of the OFC match, including a ring match (PRIDE), cage (UFC), and with people circling the fighters (Def Jam Vendetta...not MMA, but I liked the idea).
I had it saved on my computer, but that comp crashed. It was under house rules somewhere and someone posted it on one of the Yahoo boards.
I think they were called "Fight Master" rules, so if you can find them, they may work for the time being.
Take care,
Jay

I actually have a simple system worked out for CotG MMA. If anyone is interested I will post the charts and the first couple bootleg fighters I did.
EDIT: Heck with it, I will post what I have so far.

The game mechanic plays just like any other game of CotG plays. When SUB, KO, GROUND or CLINCH come up roll on the respective chart.
Roll 2d6 to see who takes control of the fight. And have some fun with it.
Of course, feedback is always welcome.

This stuff looks promising Eliath. I think you need to work with Crippler on a MMA project. Between his ideas and yours, it won't take long to get a kick ass MMA cotg style fed off the ground.
Plus, he already has artwork for tons of MMA fighters.

I had asked Crippler for his input a while back but nothing ever came of it. I had read that he had a system already and I asked him about the rules but I still haven't seen them yet.
So Crippler, if you are reading this and are interested in colaborating..give me a shout

I could be biased since its my system but once you understand the rules the game flows pretty quick. If any of you get AIM I can walk you through it as you play. I did make the game more complex than COTG for the main reason that it is such a multi-faceted sport. I could dumb it down however to make it quicker for a COTG type match. Anyway, I revised the charts, score sheet, and uploaded some cards. Take a peek and I can help you through a match. groups.yahoo.com/group/Masters_of_the_Cage/
