I posted this awhile back and I was wondering if there is a chance of starting up the Pen Pal Listings in the promoter again?
Maybe set a page for promoter listings
I think its time for it again

I am all for a Pen Pal listing.. though as I have found during my tenure.. space is really tight.. while I cannot guarantee a listing every issue.. I can see about making room at some point .. like on regular intervals or something.. similar to how Cumulative Rankings show up from time to time..
The reason I say I can't guarantee each issue..is that there are times when certain things have to go in.. whether it's previews.. articles .. etc.. then those things have to go in..
I am not saying Pen Pal listing or CRankings or any other semi-regular feature are not just as important .. it's just a judgement call based off of what is the focus of the issue..
If people are interested in doing a pen pal listing.. then either e-mail or snail mail me with the information.. I will compile it here.. and make sure that it shows up on a semi-regular basis..
After all it is the newsletter for all of us.. not just me..

Awesome idea Jim. it was this list that led to me making friends with many, many promoters. I still write to the first guy that sent me a letter. The PEP list made my fed go from a "one man show" to a million ideas.

Let's keep the response coming.. but I think to make it fair.. and safe for those that want to submit addresses but not directly online.. and it is much easier for me (especially when things get hectic here).. that in order for your info to make the Pen Pal list.. it must be sent via email or snail mail.. with enough responses.. we could see a return of this feature before too long....

John- it probably would be good to bring this feature back once (or maybe twice) a year. That should be often enough to update people and still give you enough space to explore all of the other ideas that you (and others) have for the Promoter.

Well, we do have this website and you could do exchange addresses here as PM's so you don't have to post it on any given forum.
If it were to show up in the Promoter, it would have to be on a limited basis. But like I said, I think we should use this site for that (IMO).

It comes from experience that promoters want the PEP listings but don't ever want to write...especially this day and age with email and IM's...snailmail is a thing of the past!

I say do both! Isn't there already a thread on the boards for that? And it can't hurt to spare a few inches every few issues to add a few penpal listings.
I would guess that although there are quite a few promoters out there that don't frequent this site, the promoters that subscribe to the newsletter probably also are regulars here.
I have absolutely no proof for or logic to explain that.
Hope it helps though lol

There are also quite a few promoters that are not online(Surprisingly) and the only way to comunicate is through the mail Especially one promoter that is to stubborn to get a computer in Donald Jones Jr

If there was a chance to pop in the bootleg spotlight once and a while into the promoter then that would be awesome.

I have to admit, I loved the "old" days. It was awesome getting newsletter and bootlegs. Sad but true, it is a thing of the past.

Oh, the promoter spot light was also cool. Where each month a promoter was profiled in the promoter. It put faces to the names. I'm in promoter #10. ( Man I'm getting old!!)

Hi guys, Sorry it took a bit to reply to these posts.. been busy with lots of things as of late and gearing up to work on the next issue of the Promoter in the very near future..
Speaking of the Promoter..
I do like the idea of a Pen Pal listing in the Promoter.. and is something that is very likely to happen.. should it become a reality I am looking at having it in the Promoter maybe twice a year.. or something like that.. now before anyone gets flustered.. that is just what I am thinking now.. it could change at anytime.. and I am referring to how often it appears.. I am seriously looking at adding the listing period.. However.. I would need a reasonable amount of listings.. in other words .. a little more than 2 would be nice.. let's make it a great listing.. at least a dozen or so.. that number is not a set number but it would make for a diverse amount of people to write to.. If you are interested in being in the Pen Pal listing.. email your info to me at jkcotg@yahoo.com.. once I get a reasonable amount of replies I will look at it's place in the near future..
Now onto the Spotlight.. It was one of my favorite features of any newsletter.. and I am talking about going way back to Club Galactica Super Report.. Besides playing this game.. I really really really enjoy reading about all of your feds.. I may not post on here every single day but rest assured I am reading posts several times a week.. so all your feds.. thoughts.. etc.. are being read by me.. There are so many great promoters out there who deserve the Spotlight.. and folks.. as it stands right now.. I plan on bringing back the Promoter Spotlight.. When will it return? Right now the exact issue has not been set.. I pretty much have the next issue planned out .. and the issue after that.. more than likely will not have space since it is the issue released right before Galacticon.. and that one I plan on using to spotlight the big event and most importantly all the releases coming your way.. So I am going to work out some equitable manner to determine who will get a Promoter Spotlight.. if you want to email me your choices .. I will most definitely take your opinions into account and that could make a difference on who is picked.. just tell me briefly why he/she deserves the Spotlight.. something about what they do.. not just "Oh they are the BoMb!!".. Once I have the particulars worked out.. I will post or make mention in the Promoter of what is being looked for as far as information about the Spotlight individual and his/her fed.. And Soug.... who said any of those things you liked are things of the past?? Some of those items plus so many more ideas that I have are being considered to give all of you the best possible publication.. Thanks and keep the dice rolling John
