Over the years of playing CPC, several wrestlers have had moves where the push, throw, dropkick or slam their opponents into the turnbuckle. Why? just curious ;D
Mace-Dead to Rights(choke toss into exposed turnbuckle) Kulak & Molotok-Bayonette(Spear opponent into turnbuckle) Prince Zed-Heir to the Thrown(Dropkick to opponent slouched in corner) Zed Marlowe 2120-Marlowe Vice(Scott Steiner Spinning Belly to Belly slaming opponents head into bottom turnbuckle, well thats what i get from the description) Rhiannon-Banshee Wail(Dropkick opponent standing in corner) Hanuman-Cornered(Running bearhug into turnbuckle) Morgana 2120-Richochet(running head rammer into turnbuckle followed by a reverse DDT) Hadrian-Hadrians Wall(running splash in turnbuckle0

Cuz finishers like that look cool! ;D
Seriously, it's often hard to come up with finishers that haven't been done before, either in the COTG-verse or in real life, so I guess when I think of new finishers, some magnet in the turnbuckle pulls me toward it. No other conscious reason. And you don't want to delve into my subconscious...

Then maybe the question should be: Why the need to think of finishers that haven't been done before? Nothing personal, but there are a lot of really cool looking moves out there that look impressive no matter how many times they're done. There's no need to reinvent the wheel. If a character is cool, and the move fits his persona, then it will get over.
A lot of those overly elaborate finishers seem silly to me.And Marlowe's new finisher doesn't fit at all. Just my opinion.

I find it too easy to fall back on the "devastating superplex" or "450 splash" type of thinking. I want to be creative about the moves that I give these people, because, this being the future, lots of moves should have been thought of in the 100+ years since present-day WWE wrestlers' moves. Yes, yes, that's a whole other argument of "but this is just our reality presented in a futuristic format," but still, I'm the kind of person who wants to envision something new and different given the fact that this is the 22nd century we're talking about. (Just look at some of the unintelligible moves on the Classics 3000 cards.) Personally, I think the STIGMATA is something that could fit in well with the WWE today, and that's probably the finisher I've created that I'm proudest of. As for the Marlowe Vise, come on, you don't think that would look cool done in a WWE ring? I do!

Well...until the third time or so the guy using the MARLOWE VISE caused a neck injury for hitting a low angle belly to belly against the bottom turnbuckle, and was then banned from ever doing the move again...
Definitely one of the advantages of CotG...guys just aren't so fragile...=)

I totally understand your point. And I love the STIGMATA. I just think that fans will get behind the simplest of finishers as long as it fits the wrestler.
To me at least, the Marlowe Vise seems awkward. But in my fed he'll basically use something along the lines of Chris Daniels' Last Rites and no problems. ;D

Yeah, when I don't like a finisher, I can always change it. I always wanted someone to use Angel's Wings or the Canadien Destroyer as a finisher.
