Not trying to start a debate or anything...just curious as to what others do. Do you progressively bring in new wrestlers throught the year or do you bring them all in at the beginning of the year. I keep telling myself I'll do it progressivly, but I get so excited at new talent I usually rush them right in.

I usually bring them all in at the beginning of the year but sometimes I hold out, like I haven't introduced Sultana in my fed yet. In 2120, I didn't introduce the Gatekeeper until mid-way thru the year and he ended up getting injured and then Tom got rid of him...I think he wrestled maybe 5 matches in my fed.

Most of the time in my fed i will stagger the debuts over the course of time. Sometimes i will introduce a wrestler or two before they are actually supposed to debut (for example: If Panther Warrior is supposed to debut in 2121, i might bring him in in Nov. of 2120 for some low card matches or dark matches as they are called.). I know this thread has been discussed before, i just can't locate it right now.

When I reach the point in the game where 8-10 new wrestlers are debuting in a given year, I think I will have a random draw or dice roll to determine when in the year each newbie will debut. It just seems silly to have all these new people debut on the same night. Plus, I think tossing a new character every few cards will help to keep things exciting.

I bring them in a few at a time near the end of the year (over the last three months, for the most part), so that I start the set's year with the full roster in place.

I bring in some guys up to half a year before their "official" debut.
For example; when I finally get to June of the year 2120; a huge star from 2121 will appear

I bring them in altogether . I use the old saying "Throw them in at the deep end ." . I usually sent up feuds straight away . Though saying that Monolith has played two matches , but as yet not faced Disaster .

I thought about a card at the beginning of every year called Fresh Blood or something...debuting the talents of the new wretlers. Or maybe staggering them throught the year to keep my league interesting. But if you look in some of the books, like Chaos doesn't debut til February 2092, according to the press conference. Does anyone use the books to help a timeline out?

Does anyone use the books to help a timeline out? Yes. I basically say that the handbooks become part of the history of my fed. I stay pretty close to what Tom writes in the handbooks so the team feuds are pretty close. Usually, all of the new guys debut at Demois Perennial.

I used to be very stringent on not bringing guys in until their calendar year started. However I've recently loosened up. Gatekeeper came in midways through 2119, Nosfera debuted in October 2119 and so on.
The one guy I will refuse to bring in early is Monolith. Oh It'll be torture to wait....but I'll make myself wait.

I bring them in all at once.
My Fed has a "season" unlike many. The new year begins in mid January with Deimos Perennial, in which the various stables do their interviews and announce changes for the upcoming year (just like in the old days). So everybody debuts in the same week.
And the year ends in early December with the annual Year End Awards show, in which awards are handed-out and a big fightcard takes place to end the year with an exclamation point.
Then there is a 3-week period in which the Fed comes to a halt as it prepares for the next year (season).

This year (2121) I debuted the newbies all with in the first two months...depending on the storyline I was working on...not all of them with the same impact! Some just snuck it . One with a BIG Bang...Can you guess who ;D

They all come in at once. I can't wait to try them out, so they debut. I usually run an unofficial card to try out everyone, then they debut.

I space them out so there isn't a flood of new talent at one time. I built up the debut of Monolith for three months with videos, then he started sneak attacking the Gladiators, but no one knew who it was, until a week before his debut. The videos never showed him, they showed stuff like "Prepare for the Invasion" and stuff like that.

I am always excited to use the new guys, so they all debut at once. On the first card of the year I hold a "Rookie Battle Royal" featuring all the new guys. The winner gets a big push on upcoming cards.
In 2121, Dead Ringer won the "Rookie Battle Royal". During the course of the match, DR eliminated Monolith. This resulted in a fun little feud between Dead Ringer and Monolith. Monolith crushed DR during this brief feud.

I stagger them.
Basically, I consider the 2119 set to the state of play at the start of 2119. So throughout 2119 I'm bringing in the 2120 newcomers. By the start of 2120 they'll all be in, and I'll start bringing in the 2121 crowd, and so on.
So far Nosfera and the Gatekeeper have had matches, the Master Race have done a run-in, and Plethador turned up during an Animen segment.
I use the stuff from the handbooks, but with some room for flexibility. For example, Switchblade turned heel to feud with Bloodline.
