Tom, let's start this forum off with a bang (or a whimper,as the case may be).
I've been playing this game for the majority of my life now (as amazing as that is to think about), and that means I've had little, tiny red and blue dice rolling around and getting lost all over my parents home, my first apartment, my second one, the third one, and finally my first house. What's the story with those little buggers? Did you just buy out a warehouse of them sometime in '85 and decided to use them in the game? Do you get them by the boxload from some guy selling them out of the back of a truck? What is the exact makeup of these things? What mystical properties do they have that make them lighter than air, bounce in strange ways, get lost in the most obvious places, and then magically reappear, sometimes YEARS later?
I've got to know about the dice!

Storm Rider i know what you are saying about the little dice getting lost , i had only 2 sets of them 1 of them from the first release in 85/86. My 1 1/2 year old son got hold of the first set and pitched them into the dogs cage where the dog quickly devoured the little dice , there is somethings i will do to find the dice but i will not be searching for this now lost set I hope that everyone that reads this post knows the morale of the story which is if you can't catch a 1 1/2 year old with your precious dice you should be kicked in the ......

I posted this a couple weeks ago. I actually still have my original pair, althought the white dots are getting a little browner.
I was 17 when I got my first set. Now, almost 16 years later, still rolling with my little red and blue dice (Don't ask why, but I've always played the face with the red dice and the heel with the blue dice).
Now, at 32, I have a 2 1/2 year old who, whenever he sees the dice, he says, "Roll?". I actually had him play Jimmy Snuka vs King Kong Bundy (which took forever...lol) and he did win!
And whoever came up with this thread, great idea! The new board is great

I have a 2 1/2 year old who, whenever he sees the dice, he says, "Roll?". That is quite possibly the cutest thing I've "seen" in a long time. Aren't those dice small? Like "may not be suitable for children under 3" small? It's clear that your boy knows they're not to be put in his mouth, but it's still a strange thing to picture in today's over-protective society.

Oh trust me Chris, I'm very protective of those dice! Like I said, I've had them since 1989, it's my wife I have to worry about! She knows the game is my mistress.
No, he's actually good. I always tell him what it's for, thus his response "Roll". But I definitely wouldn't leave him alone with him. I'd wouldn't want him to choke (or let alone, pick dice out of a poopie diaper!)
Keep the dice rolling

(or let alone, pick dice out of a poopie diaper!) The only game you could use them for then is craps. Ugh! That was pretty corny.

I don't have much to say about the dice except that they DO have mystical qualities. I was killing time shopping in downtown Cleveland one afternoon in 1985 and I walked past an alley where I saw an old man with a beard hunched over a sack. He motioned for me to come into the alley and look in the bag. For some reason I trusted him. There was a strange glow, a rainbow colored light that emanated from the sack. I looked inside and there were thousands of little blue and red dice. He told me he was a time traveller from the Middle Ages and that he made these dice to bring to the future. He offered me a deal I couldn't refuse, something about my soul, and I dragged the sack out of the alley, onto a bus, and back home. And that's how I got the blue and red dice.
Honest.

The scary thing is...I almost believe that.

I never got a first pair of dice. I guess somebody at my post office, back in 1989, needed the magical power of the dice for themselves.
My envelope was torn just enough for them to escape. Maybe they have disappeared and re-appeared in the post office 239 times since then.
In any event, the lack of dice started the beginning of my kick butt dice collection.

My red and blue dice have long since left me in search of better games to play I guess. I ended up getting a small green die and a small purple die, both of which you can see through. They must be emotionally bonded to my long-since-departed ones, because they act just the same! They bounce all weird like, and they most certainly never roll what I need them to. It's like the personality of a cat! I always use purple for the wrestler or team that I'm "rooting" for at the time.

My little dice went missing ages ago. I had a cat that was rather fond of messing about with them, can only wonder where they went. Back then I always used to use blue for heroes and red for villans. Now have a slightly larger white and black dice, white for hero and black for villan.

I almost believe Tom about the 'magical properties' because i still have the original set that I bought back in 88 or 89 (or somewhere around there)...I moved all over the world with them and misplaced them until one day i open up a duffle bag or whatever and they come rolling out...under a ray of light of course ;D

I still have the ones made in the first edition of CotG. They still look pretty good but the pips are more of a brown than white LOL. Blue is face for me, red heel.
