I was just curious as to how you guys determine your year end awards. I'm not the most imaginitave person and run usually a more ranking influenced federation. I still make angles out of it alot of the time and allow feuds to develop, but somethings are missing when you're mainly a stat guy, like I am. My question would be how do you determine....
Most Popular Most Hated Best Match Etc....
The year end awards need to be based on what a fan would see, not stats....so how do I help to determine that?
BTW...this is off topic, but I was checking other's websites recently and was wondering if anyone knew which website had the attendence chart for venues?
Thanks in advance

I know the attendances are listed in GWF Files 2, but don't know of any sites.
I also do a very stat based fed. I have a stopwatch that I use during each match to keep the time. I also do a star rating for the best matches that have cool action and twists in them. So I just go back, and find what matches have the best rating and look at my notes to decide.
As for most hated/popular. I rank the top 5 every month on their performance, their feuding opponent, and basically how I see the wrestler. I then add up all the points from each month at the end of the year.
Hope that helps!
Keep the Faith

I have the arena stuff on my web site. members.aol.com/wrestlingd/cotg.htmmembers.aol.com/wrestlingd/arenas.htmThere is a very primative attendence chart there also. I never got around to updating it so it is very basic. As for the awards, i have wrestler of the year, tag team of the year, rookie of the year, feud of the year and match of the year. I rate out all the matches so the best wins there. The feud is a combined of intensity and heat of the feud, so this is a judgement call. wrestler, tag team and rookie are based on titles, win-loss record and impact on the fed.

I used to hold a year end awards show. Kind of like the NFL's Hall of Fame weekend, it was a carnival atmosphere spread over 3-days. On the first couple of days I'd have interviews with legends and HofF nominees (I never confirmed or denied who made it in until the 3rd day), and (at least in my mind) pictured fans attending convention-style Q&A sessions with various GWF personalities and enjoying things like free wrestling lessons from the pros, a night at the matches video screenings, games, etc. The 3rd day started with the actual announcement of the year's HoF class, followed by the induction ceremony. Then the night would conclude with a PPV-style event showcasing the Fed's current talent.
I will be bringing the event back in my rebooted GWF sometime in the late 2090's.

The Most Hated categories and the like, are basically how you view your fed.
You're the one that determines fan reaction. If you post your fed in the Fed Forum, you may have some others giving yuou feedback which can help determine which guys are catching the fans' eyes.

On every one of my card recaps, I list the top 3 biggest pop getters and the 3 biggest heat getters. If I ever choose to do a Most Popular/Hated award, I would most likely use these to gauge who would win, as it would allow me to examine who truly deserves it. Maybe a point system could be used in conjunction with it.
For Match Of The Year, I take all of the 5-Star matches throughout the year (which are determined by a tokens accumulated) and then go with a gut feeling from that point. It usually ends up being a match that has stuck in my memory because it was THAT good.

How many tokens designates for a 5 Card Match, Bri? 10 accumulated tokens from both opponents combined. 10 / 2 = 5
