...which really aren't that different from the old ones, except in a few key areas.
As you can see, I've moved a lot of boards around. All of the old individual Filsinger Games-related boards were moved to the archive and disabled. If you wish for specific threads to be moved from there to the new general FG discussion area, please PM one of the mod staff (who haven't changed) and we'll take care of that. Other than that, nothing much has changed physically, although a number of philosophical changes have been implemented.
These boards were originally meant to serve as a placeholder until official Filsinger Games Boards were created, whenever that may have been. Now that those have finally arrived, there really wasn't much of a need for these. However, the FG crew decided to make the official boards strictly on-topic and tightly moderated, and it was requested that I leave these boards up to provide an alternative for those fans who were unwilling -- or unable -- to participate on the official site and under its stricter rules.
You know who you are, and so do most of the rest of us.
To that end, I've loosed things up a bit. Almost the entire swear filter has been removed. Its presence was an artificial decision made by me to better reflect the family-oriented nature of Tom's product; now that the official boards are up, these boards no longer have to serve as the primary community for Tom's fans and the language allowed is much broader. However, as stated in the Revised Code of Conduct (which you should definitely check out if you haven't already), excessively using profanity just for the sake of using it will be considered abuse and not tolerated. Just as in the real world, it is something that should be used selectively.
The other change in philosophy that I wanted to address is that of community. Over the last few years, I feel that we have established a strong community that shares many interests. Like any community, we have had our disagreements and many spirited debates. However, we have also had more than our share of shitheads ruining things for the majority, to the point of driving off other members through their rudeness and intolerance.
Once again, you know who you are -- and so do most of the rest of us.
Well, no more. I'm tired of watching threads get mangled because a small group of individuals consistently harass other members, repeatedly inflicting their bullshit on everyone who dares to oppose them. I'm tired of watching honest opinions being twisted into perceived blasphemy. And I'm especially tired of watching otherwise civil discussions being turned into playground-grade bullshit just because certain people can't check their own stupid egos.
If you persist in acting in that manner, you will be forced to leave these boards, with no appeal. If you don't like it, go behave yourself on the official boards. Then again, if you were capable of doing that you probably wouldn't be acting like that here in the first place.
Complaints? Think you're being singled out for no reason?
Too fucking bad. Shape up or get the fuck out. This is your last warning.
