My water heater exploded yesterday. Flooded my bedroom and spent all of last night moving books and furniture. Only lost the carpet and the water heater. Reason I'm posting this is I might not be online much this week. The room with the computer in it is wall to wall books and bookshelves and I can't get to the computer. Plus I'm going to be tearing up carpet and moving more stuff and probably won't have time to come on. Everyone I have projects with, I'll start up with them again in a few days.

Good luck with that.

Been through that a few years ago myself. It was definitely not fun. Some of my COTG gamecards didn't survive the incident, but that was the least of my worries at the time.
Although I really should reorder those cards now ....
Anyway, good luck man.

Werner, I am sorry to hear that your water heater blew up.
A few years ago, when I was living in an apartment a couple of blocks from UNLV, I woke up one morning and walked into my kitchen and found myself standing in a bunch of water from my own water heater explosion. I got lucky because the water was only in the kitchen and on the tile floor. But it turned out I had a leak in my kitchen floor and the guy who had the apartment below me had some of his stuff ruined that I think the landlord had to take care of.

That sucks.Worse than when my heating element blew in January when the temp was in the teens. Not fun.

I was lucky to be home when it happened. If it'd been earlier in the day I wouldn't have been there to shut the water off. My bedroom is 2/3rds carpeted right now, the furniture from that damaged third is now in the family room which was wall to wall stacked anyway because I've been cleaning. Just moved some books and a bookshelf to get to the computer. Everything seems ok, just going to be a lot of work to do in the next few weeks but it does give me a reason to turn this extra room into a studio of some sort.
