Ok, seriously, no more deleting of accounts.
Look, this is an internet message board.
People get all worked and say, "I'm deleting my account" or "I'm not playing anymore."
Are you serious? C'mon.
We know 99% of those people will be back so please, save us the High School drama, suck it up, take your ribbing like a man (or woman) and just chill.
Because we all know you're gonna re-register.
Seriously.

Today at work one of my buddies made a gay joke at me so I made a mom joke about him and my other buddy Cohn made fun of another guy we work with about something else and threw a Styrofoam football at his balls...so that guy ragged on Cohn grandpa jacket and for being Jewish...
and ya know what...
nobody quit their job, or left the building or deleted their account. Because we're friends. Not retards. I don't get it either.

You guys are a bunch of dildos. I'm deleting my account, effective immediately.
Then, realizing my horrible mistake, I'm going to re-register 5 minutes later and beg for everyone's forgiveness.

I think neily is clearly just speaking from experiance. he learned his lesson and doesn't want to see anyone make the same mistake. i agree with neily. he's a good guy.

While I can understand some people's frustrations that have caused them to delete accounts, I do agree with Swarm and Payback that you can just take a break rather than deleting your account, so that when you want to come back later you can with no problem.
Clearly Swarm will never stop being an a*****e, but people can stop deleting their accounts when frustrated.

Very true. Big difference between the online and real life personality.

Man,
I was hoping I could reach the elite status of having someone delete their account because of me.
BTW - I'm still wondering who deleted and why. I missed it. Maybe it happened and was deleted due to vulgarity but just would like to know who's passing to mourn.

Just to be clear --
I don't care if someone wants to delete their account if they truly wish to stop contributing to this board.
That is your opinion and right to do so if you wish.
It just seems to be too reactionary by some (again, not anyone in particular. Really) and usually it is over a misunderstanding anyway.
I just echo the sentiments of Neilybob and TournamentMaster that people should just take some time away from the board if they're feeling frustrated or overloaded. That's all.
It makes everyone get in an uproar when someone, who has been a board contributor for a long time, suddenly deletes their account.
If you need a break........cool. No biggie.

I agree with Payback. There are cases, sure, where deleting is perfectly fine. But as a reactionary move, I think deleting an account instead of just going away for awhile tends to be doing it for drama sake.
The only thing worse is when someone makes a huge announcement about how they've had it and are leaving. Just go if you hate something or someone about the forum.

The "who" should be fairly obvious if you recognize the signs. The other mods and I feel that he should not be singled out in this thread, as it's not really necessary. The "why" is something none of us (who know the "who") quite understand. It's probably a combination of factors, both real-life and board-related.

And if you are wondering, it is not Hegemony, although I am too busy right now to be as active a contributor as earlier in the semester. But I will be around, lurking and looking for my opportunities to strike. ;D
And it takes a lot of self-control not to respond to some of the recent threads that have popped up. Soon enough.

That's right, it is me!
I have deleted my account!!!! I will never... waitaminnit...
I do not understand it either. Why can people not ignore those who piss them or crap in their oatmeal? Why make all of these "I'm Leaving" threads? Friggin' bunch a drama queens...nobody really cares and you'll get flamed more for a last grand stand then for simply going away.
Anyway, I know i'll be missed.... >sniff<
