well ii said it many times before well the time is near.some time next month i will be of line to pack up everything for an army movement.there for i will not be on line for about 3 to 4 maybe and most likely 6 months.right now im feeling sad.because there is most likely no way i'll be able to get aCe.everything else i can get mail order, but aCe.i really want aCe but since its only online i've been "Bret Harted" aka screwed! i like the thought of online gaming but right now i think it sucks cause thats the only media i would be able to get it.i had all day to think about it and i really feel screwed.and then i started thinking about it some more,i'll be one of hundreds of COTG fans that was screwed out of aCe just because we dont or will be unable to be on line.then i was thinking you had to be an real .............. selfish person to only have an set out where half the ppl who play the game not able to play the latest edition of an game because you tell the Boss "lets have it online only so we can force ppl to buy it if they want it" . Sorry for the rant but i feel really screwed right now.i did not mean to hurt anyones feelings.im just up set i will not be able to get aCe 2121. i think no i belive if you have an buisness you dont tell someone that bought all your products that they cant have it buy walking in your store just because you might get more ppl to buy the product unless they buy something they really dont like to get it. Sorry again im really starting not to like ONE edition that ONLY can be bought ONLINE.thats just hurting your fan base,in my opion.think about it.i bet most ppl that have everything is not the ones that like the online thing.and those who dont have everything are the online gamers everynight that most likely will not keep playing the game.i dont know ...... about march 15th i will not be on-line on these or anyother boards for a long long time.not by choice but by force. this is just an heads up everyone that cares.but hopefully i'll beback before holloween.

I'm upset that the new aCe edition will only be featured online, but that won't stop me from checking out the stuff thats already released, and if in the future I feel it necesaary, I will purchase COTGOnline. This is especially the case if the aCe sets end up being as great as everyone keeps telling me they are.

Pride,
First off I wish you godspeed on your travels.
Second, and I'm sure that other folks at Fed HQ can comment on this better than I can, but I can say with near certainty that the reason aCe and CPC will be going to online only versions is that they didn't sell profitably enough in print form (with costs of paying printers and postage being the two main components of that), at least compared to the GWF and LOW sets. So it became a case of either letting the feds die off altogether, or creating a home for them in this alternate medium. It's a trade-off, I grant you. Not everyone will be happy with an online only version for various reasons. But unless a significant number of new buyers were to come to aCe or the CPC, then the online version is the only way that the people who play those feds would be able to do it.
I do believe that if you buy the sets online, you will have an option of printing them from a pdf file. I don't know if that's possible in your situation, or if that's something you'd even want to do, but at least the option is there.
Believe me. Tom and the gang aren't trying to screw anyone by doing the online only versions. They're trying to keep alive the feds that otherwise would be cut off completely. It's a business decision and knowing what I know of it, I totally understand. Heck, up until last month when the online platform was announced, I was facing writing possibly my last Filsinger Games product. Now it looks like I can continue for longer, so long as people buy it online.
So I hope this explains things a little better. The Filsinger crew does care about their customers more than just about any company out there. I think that comes through in the personal touch we give things and the contact we have with folks such as yourself. We're unfortunately not going to be able to please all of the people all of the time. But removing the CPC and aCe completely was the only other option. I think the right choice was made.
Again, good luck and stay safe.

Best wishes to you, Pride. Have a safe trip.
I understand the reasoning behind CPC/ACE going completely online. I just hope it doesn't happen with LOW. My computer doesn't like some online programs too much and I'd really be screwed if that happened.
Take care,
Jay

Mark's post said absolutely everything I could possibly have said, and did so much more eloquently than I possibly could have. Thank you, Mr. Ashby! Best wishes to you, Pride. Have a safe trip. I understand the reasoning behind CPC/ACE going completely online. I just hope it doesn't happen with LOW. My computer doesn't like some online programs too much and I'd really be screwed if that happened. Take care, Jay As I understand it, there are a lot of legal technicalities that make it very difficult to move LOW to an online format. I'm sure Kris could probably speak more authoritatively on that subject than I can, but that's what I've constantly heard about LOW as it relates to COTGonline.
