Goes to Carty Finkbeiner, mayor of my hometown Toledo, Ohio.
At a staff meeting last week he referred to our Fire Chief as "King Kong". The Fire Chiefs name is Mike Bell ... and of course he just so happens to be an African-American.
Finkbeiner claims he did not mean it in a derogatory way, and that it is being taken out of context ... or something along those lines.
A public figure like this should know better though.
Then again, this mayor has a history of being a dumbass. A few years back there were complaints from a number of residents near the Toledo Express Airport that it was too noisy in their neighborhood.
Finkbeiner's response: Make that neighborhood a "Hearing Impaired Community" and move Toledo's deaf population to that neighborhood, since the noise wouldn't bother them.
I'm not making this up. It's true ... it's damn true.
Anyone else want to nominate a local politician of their community??

No, though I can point out the recent flub that city workers made. Signs are put up in some areas stating who the mayor is, as well as other city officials. Well, before the recent election had even ended, they made signs with a different mayor on them, even though they didn't know who the winner would be. What's better is that they actually put these signs out. Oops... Though on a side note, I don't talk politics. It causes too many arguements and heaven knows there's enough of that going around as is.
