Are you ready for this one ? . I worked night monday to friday packing the shelves up with booze . I wanted a wednesday night off to go to see Discharge (big anti-war English punk band) . So I suggested to them I changed a saturday night off for a wednesday working .12 weeks in advance and then 3 weeks in writing . They said okay . So I worked the saturday night and went to the gig on wednesday at Manchester university . Now to my HORROR have found out , that I have been STOPPED £10-50p (about $17-60p) for my wages . I asked why they said "A preach of contract" . Every heard like that before ? . I am disgusted about it .

I am assuming they said breach of contract. That sounds like a bunch of BS though. If you told them 12 weeks in advance and they never told you that you would be docked pay then I would really go talk to someone about it. I don't know how much you will get accomplished though.

Okay, I'm confused.
Do you have a contract with this company prohibiting anything?

Or maybe some section of company policy you weren't aware of?
This is the reason I knew my company's policy manual in and out...=P
